The same poll taken in July saw Clinton at 57 percent to Trump at 38 percent. And a version taken in August had Clinton with 52 percent support and Trump with 43 percent.
Trump has seen his campaign’s popularity surge through the summer while Clinton’s has struggled with voter concerns over her transparency and trustworthiness as secretary of State.
The poll also found that 30 percent of respondents believe Trump will eventually be the Republican nominee, leading the field.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came in second, with 20 percent saying they expect him to win the nomination. Following Bush in order were retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
The poll surveyed 1,000 adults across the nation Sept. 2-3, and it had a margin of error of 3.3 percent.[/quote]

Basically here's what happened with trump:
When Obama got elected, a bunch of racist guys called the tea party got all pissy about it and elected a bunch of evangelical nutjobs to congress in retaliation. These evangelists then decided to do [i]absolutely nothing[/i] for the last like, 5 years. As a result, people got pretty pissed off at the entire political system, regardless of the fact that it's been a republican house that has deliberately fucked progress in the US. So, when political cynicism gets really REALLY bad, and we lose all faith in the government and political system of the USA, the American people decide "fuck it, let's elect the worst possible candidate to president; the orange guy who says stupid racist shit from that TV show. That will show the government that we're really pissed off at them!"
As a result, the American political system becomes even more of a joke since apparently any idiot who says stupid shit can get elected, so why the fuck not elect a 10 foot tall dildo or a porn star or the ghost of fucking Richard Nixon. basically, Donald Trump is the death knell of democracy in America and only proves that most Americans are in fact fucking idiots.
