This has probably been done before but I want to get this off my chest.
Why is this concept still around? It is a delusional concept basically all for keeping a countries ways how they used to be in the 1920's (when the black man was brought down, ban of homosexuality etc.). Why is it they can't just accept that times are changing and that is how it always will be, but of course this idea was invented by very ignorant and/or narcissistic people. The right wing governments in power always claim that they will better the economy and make better conditions for citizens but all they do is improve the economy in a very unethical way and better the conditions for people like them (meaning you have no money then you're screwed).
What is it with the conservatives and their humanistic ideas, that the environment and nature are for out benefit. They have this idea that as much as we fuck up the environment that it won't affect us anyway because we're 'seperate' from nature.
The funny thing about conservatives is how they trivialize the left wing governments and the environmentalists, because of their humanistic ideas they make-out that it's not important and then they start rumours about them just because they are trying to do the right thing.
I can't come up with anymore because it's all just bunching together so I can't get them all through but I will type more later on. But yeah, does anyone agree with me here, these fascists are out to control you anyway possible even though they accuse environmentalists and democrats of doing the same thing.
By the way, DO NOT BRING RELIGION INTO THIS DISCUSSION, THIS ISN'T ABOUT THAT!!!

You used the term the wrong way >:| Humanistic refers to Humanists (like me), and although I understand the misunderstanding, you should change it to maybe "materialistic", maybe?
You're dumb.

You're hatred for the right wing party is mis-placed, you don't seem to understand that nothing in the world is free, you are merely benefiting from it because YOUR (Or rather your parents) tax dollars pay for the police that protect you, your doctor, and all that good stuff that keeps you safe and healthy.

There is a difference between caring for the environment and going so nut job as to place a tax on cow farts to help "save the planet" or some other stupid shit. As to "spreading rumors" absolute bollocks, if anything it's the democratic party that has a tendency to do these things, as I've always felt that the democratic party is a very spiteful and bitter one about many things.
If I were to hazard a guess, you're a 12 year old with little to no knowledge of politics outside of what you see on TV or hear from your parents. So this rant sounds rather foolish, this is not to say that there aren't legitimate reasons to be against the right wings, but you're generalization that all republicans are crazy whacks (Spreading rumors, trivializing important matters, ect) like Sarah Palin is foolish. Most are ordinary people, who pay their bills like everybody else and are just angry to see it being spent so carelessly. There are ideas and opinions from both parties that I agree with, but if you are going to rant about something at least in form yourself.
Just my 2 cents.

Didn't know which one to use, I assumed that the darker form of humanism was what I described.

Okay I realize my rant got into the stereotypes but I stick by it, I do think that thanks to this concept but also neglect the environments in a worse shape than its ever been. I agree there are friendly conservatists, I know of a few but there are some very self-righteous and narcissistic conservatists out there who are merely making the world worse and worse. About the environmentalists, as crazy as they may sound I do agree that some of the tax payers money should be contributed to assist in stopping climate change and other environmental issues the planet is facing. That's the sacrifice we'll eventually have to make to continue our existence.
I do admit my understanding of politics is poor, mainly because it is a topic I care little about as life is too short to think too much on these topics (I know Im getting hypocritical here).
There are plenty of self-righteous and narcissistic liberals on the left too.
Also, why would you make this thread if your understanding of politics is "poor, mainly because it is a topic I care little about" ??
The reason they still exist is because if everyone thought the same way, the world would be a very dull place.
Like Scorpious said there are hypocritical liberals out there also. The only reason you see conservatives played as medieval and archaic in thinking is because a great deal of the mainstream media is very much liberally biased at the time being. But if you watch fox news or a more conservative station you will see liberals played out in the same light.
BTW, I am a conservative, and trust me I see all the liberals who rant on News stations, in magazines and in this very forum with the same disdain, but as Voltaire said, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” because that is just who I am.
EDIT:
That was actually Evelyn Beatrice Hall, my bad.
Conservatism used to be rooted in minimalist government and maximum individual rights. Just because it has drifted in its modern iteration doesn't mean it's time to start telling people what they can and cannot think.
[editline]09:45AM[/editline]
You say don't mention religion, but religious zealotism IS why conservatism, and Republicanism specifically, drifted from its original cause. Original Republicanism used to be what modern Libertarianism is today (the ideology, not the party.) It was Republicanism that brought the United States the Separation of Church and State, the First Amendment and the People's right to dissent, and generally how much power the general populace wields in this country. It's a shame that it's drifted so far from itself that today's youth doesn't even know what triumphs it had once made.
[editline]09:46AM[/editline]
Also you talk primarily about the environment. As though liberalism and the Democratic party give any more of a shit, or anyone with any sense of scale in general.
[editline]09:53AM[/editline]
In short:
nigga go back to history class.
I tried reading your [the OP's] post four times, but your poor formatting and incoherence made it nigh impossible.

Do you have some special history education behind you, Lankist? Or are you just really enthusiastic about the subject.
Just wondering.
I hate conservatism as well, but I also despise people who don't understand politics.

I bet you fap to Ayn Rand.
People keep saying that and I play along, but I'll say it right now:
I've never read a single page of Ayn Rand.
The only reason I know who she is, is because people keep saying "Oh you're just an Ayn Rand fan" so I looked her up on Wikipedia to figure out who exactly I am a fan of.
cause the old people teach the new people about it then the new people act like the old people.
Nor do I intend to read anything so enormous as Atlas Shrugged.

Ok. It's just, most libertarians I've met won't shut up about her.
Self Righteous and Self Centered Conservatives, hmm, not like there aren't any Self Righteous and Self Centered Liberals?
Edit:
I also love how black people like to use the racist card on conservatives because they didn't vote for Obama. It's definitely not like they don't have different beliefs as to how the government should be run, huh?
ITT: A democrat complains, even though his party won the election
Ok. It's just, most libertarians I've met won't shut up about her.
Given the heart of the Libertarian ideology is individualism over security, unity and betterment of all via a minimalist government, I'd suggest you start judging libertarians on an individual basis.

Those are some very informed views you have there :downs:

1. Because homosexuality is an immoral and degrading practice.
2. He made nature not for man alone, but for the beings on Earth.
3. Humanism is believing one's self to be a god, to shun any belief and public teaching of a religious diety of any type, and to not use the moral values of any religion in political, etc. decisions.
So what would you describe yourself as, politically?
I would describe myself as myself.
The closest established philosophy I could align myself to is Libertarianism but I prefer not to spout its rhetoric or directly label myself as one because the Libertarian Party has been overrun by failed Republicans like Bob Barr and Ron Paul.

Good because it's awful. Ayn Rand is a neat philosopher, but she's a terrible writer.
