Alienware might get a lot of shit for being overpriced, but I like the Alpha. If I were a richer guy I'd buy one as a desktop alternative. I don't have the same amount of time that I used to to care about max everything nor the space anymore for my desktop so it looks like a good option in the future.

Until you see them in the flesh, it's hard to explain just how dinky they are. If I was buying a kid a PC in the next few years, I'd definitely get him/her one of these, over a laptop. They can be lightly upgraded, chucked around and taken to their friends houses for LAN parties. They'll play most games, and the games themselves are significantly cheaper. And they can do their homework on them. I just think they're a brilliant piece of kit.
It's alright, but I would prefer making an attractive Micro-ATX build instead.
