RPS really needs to ditch John Walker. Everything he writes reads out like a blog post, he manages to turn even the simplest of stories into an excuse to soapbox his opinions. There's a point where you're not writing about the news, you're writing what you thought about it.
oh my god this series is bad.
It has mass effect 3 concept art to prove it.
(I joke ofcourse)
I like how this isn't just a poorly written article, but it's also really late news.
Oh wow long white buildings.

He even admits to it in the article :v:
You may argue that I’m only writing this story so I can vent about how bad SHIELD is. You’d be right. I’m going to carry on for a bit.
Also I feel like this guy stopped watching after the first three episodes because the series has dramatically increased in quality since Episode 7.
What a horrible article.
"Things set in the future look futuristic" call the cops
The comments section is fucking psychotic.
“But worst of all, in a time when government mistrust is at its highest, the show’s core message throughout has been: trust the powerful, invisible government against the interests of your own personal freedoms.”
This sort of ‘sponsored’ propaganda is all over American TV.
...
I think these ‘stories’ are told to gauge the public reaction to such a situation… you know, to see if it’s time yet.
Give it another 30 years.. and whoever it is who does it (be it government or private interests).. we’ll all be stamped, numbered and set in our own little pigeonhole.
..and I hope anyone reading this has seen enough over the past couple of years to finally realise that accusations of paranoia are utterly redundant.. Our worst paranoid nightmares are all ready happening..

Somehow making Agent Coulson an unlikeable character
Wait what? I'm not even sure this guy has seen the same show I have.
You’ve got two non-evil scientists who live with the constant moral nightmare that at any moment they may do a science that is evil
Ok, now I'm starting to be sure we didn't watch the same show.
. You’ve got Min-Na Wen monstrously wasted, and seemingly asleep at all points. Although she’s positively vibrant compared to human coma Grand Ward
Ok, so maybe we might have watched the same show, although the characterisation of May is that she's distant from people and as for ward, it stated from the first episode that he wasn't a people person, although both of these could have been done better.
is poor Clark Gregg as Coulson, who DIED! DID YOU HEAR THAT HE DIED?! AREN’T YOU INTRIGUED THAT HE DIED?!?!?!
The intrigue isn't that he died, you fucking know this from the start, the intrigue is how he's now not dead and why
Each week they defiantly refuse to engage in anything relating to super heroes, but instead agonisingly flog the dreary horse of Iron Man 3′s least interesting aspect, Extremis.
Yeah because 1, Bringing in super heroes would not only render moot the entire point of having a team and completely overshadow them in whichever episode they show up in, but 2. Say goodbye to the budget if you try to bring in one of the actors. If they were up against a foe that required super powers to defeat, then, you know, it'd be kind of impossible for regular agents to deal with, plus the team is going about the day to day activities of SHIELD, and not the extraordinary situations of SHIELD. Plus, it's also a way to tie in Hydra, which it kind of is doing.
the show’s core message throughout has been: trust the powerful, invisible government against the interests of your own personal freedoms.
Uh, again with the did we watch the same show. I mean, as individuals, for the most part, SHIELD is, on that level, nominally the good guys, and as an organisation, while they're nominally good guys, they're still kinda shady as fuck.
I like how he went straight to ME and forgot all the previous futuristic series.
This is some fucking Kotaku level bullshit article right here. God damn.
That headline needs more punctuation at the end; I don't think it was unprofessional enough.
In the articles defense, the buildings are nearly identical. The artist probably managed to somehow keep the rights to the design (I really can't see EA allowing him to reuse licensed work like that, he must have a hell of a contract), and later reworked it as a digital matte painting for AoS.

this. not only that but it's CONCEPT ART for mass effect. this shit happens way more often than you think.
also remove rps. please.

but RPS is a blog I thought that was pretty obvious.
but RPS is a blog I thought that was pretty obvious.
There was a time when RPS was actually informative and funny about PC gaming and didn't resort to Kotaku level bullshit to try to get some page hits or rile people up about something that literally doesn't make a shit stains difference to gaming. Sure, they're a blog, but before they got removed from the News Node the first time I thought they were one of the better websites to read about PC gaming news. I still read them off Facepunch. Now the only reason I read them is because they're in the News Node and I actually wouldn't miss them this time if we pulled them again. I don't know what caused it but there was a serious shift in what their opinion articles are about now and it's just unpleasant to read in every aspect; a prime example is this shit right here.
Oh boy, i can't wait for him to find out about Star Wars and the moon (George Lucas shamelessly copied it).

Or Mechwarrior/Battle tech and Macross mechs.
Not to defend the show, but it seems more like a similarity than a rip off.
It's nothing close to the shit bioware pulled of in ME3 with ripped images.
This has got the be the most shitty cringe worthy article rps has ever posted
CS-Nation lover for life
Also agents of shield is fucking awesome faggot, deal with it

Okay, if this guy was paying attention he would learn that a major plot point by now is Coulson's and even his team's wavering faith in the system. They no longer fully believe that the system has their best interests in mind. That's why they allow Skye to operate outside the system like she can; because they just don't trust SHIELD anymore.
