Two Yonkers cops under investigation for a falsified search warrant in the case of a suspect who died in a raid each collected more than $13,000 in overtime while the probe was underway.
It took more than four months after the March 21 death of Dario Tena for police officials to strip Detective Christian Koch and Officer Neil Vera of their weapons and badges.
In my own city.
Wait, what? Am i just reading it wrong? they basically lied but got away with it AND was paid extra?
I don't know, I'm really confused here, is it just me? How was it they even got that kind of money when something like that is happening?

More or less. They basically put a guy in jail on a false charge then collected overtime money for a probe into this case.

That's completely not kosher
how the hell does stuff like this even happen? God damn
the money shouldn't have been given until after if they, lets say, were proven justified

8 People charged involed, 3 charged with felonies. All charges finally were dropped on these individuals after the search warrant was proven to be falsified.
There's crooked cops in every department. Sometimes, the salary of a government servant just isn't enough, and so they resort to being crooked.

The magistrate authorized it, so it was a good warrant on bad information
Another thing mentioned in the article I'm totally uncomfortable with is plea bargaining. I get that it's used to speed shit up but I reckon it's a pretty sketchy practice. People shouldn't be punished for not surrendering their right to their day in court.
