• Painting a room

Hey there. Redoing my room. Everything is out and the only thing left for me to do is paint. But I'm clueless on types of paint, what I should do etc. Any help?
Do your parents have any experience with painting?
If you're painting the walls you probably want flat matte paint. Not gloss! Cut the corners and edges in first using a brush (basically anywhere the roller won't reach) - then roll it with a paint roller. Might need a couple of coats depending on the start surface.
Basically what Garry said, but remember to put down a load of sheets like old bed sheets that your not going to use anymore or newspaper since rollers can make a mess Also with rollers, try to keep a decent amount of paint on it, you can push hard on them to make it seem like its putting the same amount of paint on but its actually a thinner layer and will make you need another coat. Also remember to turn the power off when taking off the light switches to cut underneath them. Also depending on the colour and the type of paint, it might need a undercoat of black or white saving you time coating the desired colour 5 or so times. If you have wallpaper a roller may leave small gaps in the paint depending on the wallpaper (one with bumps in). One more thing, when using a roller, don't rush it, take your time and do nice even strides.
