http://hamptonroads.com/2013/05/newport-news-man-arrested-after-4yearolds-death Long story short, this guy lived with me for about five months. He always seemed like a chill guy. Always polite, helped out with the housework, played X-Box a lot. He had been out of work for a couple months after a car accident, but he paid his rent, and moved out voluntarily after he could no longer pay. He moved in with his new girlfriend. We didn't hear much about him after that. Two months later, and he's been arrested for beating his girlfriend's four year old daughter to death. Edit: A funny rating? Really, dude?
What a dick.
What a dick.
That's a bit of an understatement.
Jesus christ I wonder what goes through people's heads when they do things like this
How can you even live with yourself knowing you've done something like this.
I have no words, just, wow.
So, OP, you been interview by the police?
He looks like a swell guy.
So, OP, you been interview by the police?
I don't see why they'd interview all of the people he knows.
It's weird to think how small our worlds can be
So, OP, you been interview by the police?
No. He hadn't lived here for a couple months, so I doubt I'd have anything to add to the case.
I don't see why they'd interview all of the people he knows.
Yeah I'm sure they wouldn't want to have any background information on the guy from his ex room mate, yeah that would be a complete waste of time.
Looking at how NuclearJesus explained his roommate, it sounds like a "Straw that broke the Camel's back" event that just caused him to do an extremely irrational thing that he had no control over and couldn't stop. In other words, he probably snapped. It's a damn shame for both parties. [editline]cock[/editline] Though that brings up a question: What was the "Straw", specifically, that would cause a man to brutally murder a young girl?
Jesus christ I wonder what goes through people's heads when they do things like this
Insanity.
No. He hadn't lived here for a couple months, so I doubt I'd have anything to add to the case.
I figured they'd want to ask you if he seemed like the type, if he's ever gotten really angry, etc

We had no clue about him.
Jesus christ I wonder what goes through people's heads when they do things like this
Probably a bloodboil of undying blind rage.

They're generally seen as very nice and happy people, when really they're actually very manipulative and get very nasty when they lose it. [editline]b[/editline] Or Sociopath, I can't remember the difference

Seriously though [del]it must be the xbox's fault[/del] what the hell would cause him to do this
Your source link is down or not working at all

Seriously though [del]it must be the xbox's fault[/del] what the hell would cause him to do this
My ex wife had planned a visit with my four year old daughter while he was living here. I'm more than a bit thankful in retrospect that she ended up having to postpone.

[editline]b[/editline] Or Sociopath, I can't remember the difference
I think it's the origin of the disorder. THe effects are the same. A psycopath has a origin on biological stuff. Like the bald guy from Kane & Lynch that has to got to take pills in order to avoid killing/manipulating people Sociopath...well..."socio"...you understand it.
Your source link is down or not working at all
Working for me, and for everyone else in the room on their phones.
Your source link is down or not working at all
not working for me either
That's fucked up. I had a similar experience with my old roommate. I moved in with him and his girlfriend in a spur of the moment kinda thing but since we worked together it wasn't a big deal to him. I'd offer to pay some rent, a portion of the cable bill, but he always refused and said I just had to buy my own food and beer. He was incredibly nice, we'd always LAN WoW, MNC, get smashed and play Rockband with our friends and coworkers. Eventually I moved out and shortly after I got a call from a coworker asking if I heard about him. Turns out he followed one of his neighbors into her apartment one night, tied her up at knife point, raped her, and stole her credit cards. You never really ever truly know someone, shits crazy.
http://wtkr.com/2013/05/03/childs-death-under-investigation-in-newport-news/ Another article about the murder. Sorry, I'm on a java-based phone and Opera Mini, so I can't paste directly into the OP without erasing everything else. If that doesn't work, Google search "Carl Michael Cottee murder" and you'll find a few links.
Works for me fine
i wonder how you could still live without offing yourself after beating up a 4 year old baby, damn also, what the hell is with the "straw that broke the camel's back" phrase getting used a lot more often now, is it the new buzzphrase here in SH?

It is in no way a defense.
That's a bit of an understatement.
It's bad that I chuckled because I saw your avatar and thought Gherkin. But, holy shit that's terrible. How do you even bring yourself to do that?
