• Forbes: Valve and Steam Worth Billions

Although Valve doesn't disclose their financial data, economists have estimated Valve (and Steam) to be worth anywhere from two to four billion dollars. Pretty impressive, right? Gabe Newell's even said that Valve is more profitable per employee than Google, who rakes in about $350,000 in profit per employee annually. That means at least over $87.5 million in profits annually from employees. A few years ago, a company made an offer to purchase Valve and Steam for approximately $1 billion, which Valve supposedly denied (Valve never officially said if this was true or not). So, I guess this means that Valve is one of the most profitable companies on the technological market right now. If any of you guys invest in the stock market, I'd suggest investing in Valve (it probably would've been better to do so years ago, though). On another note, Gabe Newell's been named one of the biggest names to watch in 2011. Kickass picture of Gabe from the Forbes article: Article link: http://blogs.forbes.com/oliverchiang/2011/02/15/valve-and-steam-worth-billions/

Where's my Episode 3
Wait, can I even purchase stock like the article suggests I do? I thought Valve was a private company.
I feel useless now, this article just popped up on my Twitter feed. Forbes Twitter: Late yet again [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] Oh, and apparently Valve doesn't have stock, silly me
Yeah valve are a private company, no stocks here.
Valve is wholly owned and is not shared.
Goes to show that looking after your customers pays. Take a hint, Blactivision
You even did a great job making this look almost like the same article that was posted before this. Rated you an artistic for that!
Valve is wholly owned and is not shared.
Which is a good thing, and they should stay that way.
I'd suggest investing in Valve (it probably would've been better to do so years ago, though).
I would if Valve was actually on the stock market.
I would if Valve was actually on the stock market.
I think it's good that they aren't, less for them to worry about when it comes to making their own decisions.
Definitely worth the weight.
