Not receiving any sound from monitor using headphones(ASUS VH226H)

Well, I recently got a new monitor and I wanted to use it for playing on my Playstation 3 as well as doing stuff on the PC (of course). But here's the thing, when I plug my headphone into the headphone jack the sound is still being transmitted to the monitors speakers. I want the sound that I get from the PS3 (that are obtained from the HDMI lead connected with each other) to be transmitted to the headphone jack.
Either the jack doesn't work or there is something else going on!
To sum it up; I'm not getting any audio from the headphone jack, only from the monitor speakers.
Also I'm pretty sure that the jack works as I used an audio cable that came with the monitor to plug it into my PCs' soundcard and it played up the wanted audio to the monitors speakers just fine.
edit: (I'm a bat)
There's nothing. The only audio related settings I found is the volume :(

Wow, I'm fucking BLIND. I didn't notice there were two inputs, one audio in and one headphone jack. I tried out the audio-in and it's working. Case closed people :downs:
Did you play with the monitors settings to make sure there isn't an option to use the audio out as opposed to the built in speakers...?
