• My Quest For 150 Great Movies

Alright, for a few years, it's been an inside joke amongst my friends and I that any movie anyone would call "great" I've never seen. This was true. I had never seen Jaws, Back to The Future, The Departed, The Boondock Saints, Highlander, the list goes on and on. I did slowly make my way through many of these over the course of about 2 years, but I've realized I want to see movie's that are considered good by other groups of people to truly enjoy as many amazing movies as possible. I'm making my deadline December 31st, 2009. This is like a test to see just how many movies I can see, and to be able to go "Yes, of course I've seen that!" for any respectable movie. Facepunch, help me out, I know there MUST be cinema geeks in our rollcall, and it is you I want advice from, though any is welcome. Movies I've Already Seen (That I think are worth mentioning): Jaws The Departed District 9 All the Back to the Future's The Boondock Saints Highlander Braveheart The Jurassic Parks The Star War movies The Lord of the Rings trilogy Inglourious Basterds Pulp Fiction From Dusk till' Dawn Black Hawk Down The Teminators The Dark Knight Zombieland Saving Private Ryan Gladiator ^These are what I can think of now, I will update later. The bourne series
Zombieland
One of the greatest movies of all time. it taught me the value of friendship. :downs:
A bunch of porn movies.
I didn't like Full Metal Jacket, I just don't see whats so great about it. Also, you might wanna list everything you've seen that's 'great' so you don't get a bunch of recommendations that you've already seen.
tokyo gore police
Citizen Kane
Pretty much every single Coen Brothers movie.
into the wild
Obviuosly you need need Old Boy on there
A Clockwork Orange.
AND THIS ^^^^^^ Shawshank is a brilliant movie, I suggest you see it right away. Saving Private Ryan is pretty good, and some of the Steven King movies are also decent.

Dr. Strangelove :buddy: and about American Psycho :iia:
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

the big lebowski
Forrest Gump
Why isnt 2001 a space odyssey or Brazil on that list?
2001 a space odyssey was a shit movie
Why oh why would you consider "Boondock Saints" to be great? Also, Reservoir Dogs. Easily Tarantino's best. Also, Alien(s) As well as, Dogma. Including, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Citizen Kane so you can be all smug when you see the gif of Kane clapping. That and it's a great movie.
Rocky Balboa
Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs
2001 a space odyssey was a shit movie
How so?

2001 a space odyssey was a shit movie
How so?
it was really boring and moved way too slowly
Why oh why would you consider "Boondock Saints" to be great?
I simply thought it was interesting and exciting, keeping it amusing and intriguing and awesome, and without being too bothered with realism, which I enjoy quite often i.e. Inglorious Basterds. Plus Dafoe did a really great job in it.
Pixar's movies.
