Right, well - I'm moving to the UK to study and I need a solid laptop that I can both play games and work on.
I've spent the better half of this week looking for good models and it seems to me that what I need simply does not exist:
NVidia 860M
quad core i7 (4700HQ for example)
8GB RAM
a 7200 RPM hard drive
Full HD screen
A manageable weight
The only laptops that fit this are:
Lenovo Y50-70 - has a 5400 RPM hard drive and only one slot, so I can't plug the SSD from my desktop in; also no optical drive, but that's not that big of a deal
ASUS ROG series - fits everything, but weighs almost 5 kg, which seems like it would be a massive weight to lug around
My holy grail, which apparently is the hardest laptop to get my hands on - MSI GE70 Apache - it has everything I need, but I've yet to find a place that sells it.
What other alternatives I have? If not, is 5 kg really that much (seems like it is) or should I go for the Lenovo and just get a 7200 rpm drive? Price is of no concern, finding the right laptop is.
How about the Asus G750Jz or the MSI GT70 DominatorPRO

5kg is pretty much for a laptop. It's not portable to say the least. Mine weighs 1.6kg - but that's closer to a Ultrabook.
