Well, that was unexpected.
Earlier today CDProjektRED announced that a new title would join The Witcher family. It's game is "The witcher: battle-arena."- A F2P MOBA with a heavy emphisis on being "fair"; every bit of content is unlocked through gameplay and won't be "pay2win". Instead, "you'll only pay to save some time" which all but confirms grinding, so have fun with that.
The game will be coming out later this year for mobile devices (Android, IOS, windows Phone/Tablet, etc).

Why does everything need a MOBA now? None of them are going to be as popular as something like LoL or DoTA 2. They're all pretty much the same in terms of gameplay as well.
MOBAs are the new zombie hype.

Dawngate is different than LoL and Dota 2 :l
Instead of 3 lanes there are 2 lanes with more jungle and you get to choose your role between gladiator, tactician, hunter, and predator unlike in Lol or Dota where the role is already implemented in the character, allowing for more freedom and variety.
Honestly, I have had a LOT more fun with Dawngate than LoL and Dota 2

I'm not overly bothered. Witcher 3 is in full debug/polishing mode and not everyone at CDPR are needed on what is left, is my guess. This is what I assume is a side project to keep themselves busy until Witcher 3 is out.

I wonder how CD project red even bother with a MOBA. A MOBA is the complete reverse of any of their games. It's the worst possible field to work in for them.

Especially in Witcher universe. According to books no battle arena shit is possible. Combat ends in a few seconds, bloody and messy.

They probably outsourced the development. If they took people from teams working on TW3 or Cyberpunk to work on this shit instead, I'm gonna flip a bitch.

I do agree that people should stop making mobas. There are too many of them.
Plus you will never beat Dota 2 or LoL in terms of revenue or popularity.
