Because it's still in Early Access so clearly the reason it runs bad is because they're still working on it :^)
Releasing DLC or adding microtransactions to a game before it's out of EA is one of the very few things that kills [I]all[/I] my trust in a developer.

I shamefully got it in a humble bundle for $10. It doesn't run too terrible, but their business model is apart of a cancer that we would like to rid of.
