I just logged in and I was presented with a beautiful black screen telling me to activate windows. See, I had a virus about 3 weeks ago, and I removed it and thought nothing more of it. Now apparently the product key is stolen. And no, I didn't pirate it. I have the disk right here. Anything I can do? Or am I fucked?

Yea call microsoft Asap. I've never had a key stolen for anything, but it should be relatively easy to get a new one from micro$oft.
Okay thanks guys. I called Microsoft and got my key reset so I assume I need to reboot and I'll be fine.
How exactly did that work? You just asked for a new one and they gave it to you?

I would have thought it would take hours on hold, elevating and elevating through their support structure. Good to know it's not that bad.
That was certainly odd.

Nod32.
AVG
Nod32 is the shit
Kaspersky
If you want to pay for antivirus, NOD32 seems to be a really good option. I bought the 3 pack and installed it on the computers of both my brothers and my mother's PC, I haven't had to fix a virus related problem for a while now... Though one of my brothers always has new toolbars in firefox when I pass by his computer...
