By Lee Jin-a Seoul will develop a sprawling underground complex downtown by building a 400-meter passage to link two squares stretching for 4.5 kilometers. Between 2020 and 2025, Seoul City will build the underground passage linking Seoul City Hall to Gwanghwamun subway station. People will be able to walk underground through 12 subway stations and 30 surrounding shopping and business areas. Seoul hopes the complex will increase pedestrian traffic and business.
http://m.koreatimes.co.kr/phone/news/view.jsp?req_newsidx=214671
Are we looking at the start of a large-scale nuclear attack shelter plan in South Korea?
They chose the impossible
South Korea is so awesome
Strike the Earth!
They chose the impossible
From what i saw in burial at sea during the start of that DLC, I'd love to live in an underwater city.
South Korea is so awesome
They don't really waste any space here. It's so jam packed, and land prices are so expensive, that underground is actually one of the smarter things that can be done.
City of Ember
From what i saw in burial at sea during the start of that DLC, I'd love to live in an underwater city.
Considering the backstory of first and second games (in audiodiaries) and some bits from BaS, I'll pass
this is some cyberpunk shit
the future is near i'm ready for upper seoul and lower seoul
It should be noted that DC has an underground city
I hope they've learnt from the 2003 Daegu subway fire... that was terrible. Might be interesting to see how an underground city would function
I certainly hope it's better organized than the PATH network in downtown Toronto. I can't remember how many times I've gotten lost down there.
Underground city in Toronto is a fricking maze the last time I visited.
The PATH in Toronto isn't so bad, especially since they've linked quite a few more buildings and reduced the 'winding path' issue and made it a bit more of a grid...
If we're getting underground cities, can we have one of these as well? [IMG_thumb]http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/deusex/images/3/39/Hengsha.png/revision/latest?cb=20110906182253&path-prefix=en[/IMG_thumb]
Underground city in Toronto is a fricking maze the last time I visited.
Yeah same thing in Montreal, the Underground city is a maze and you don't really have anything to orientate you so you don't know were the fuck you are unless you remember that you've already been at that one particular McDonald
the differences between North and South Korea is so bizarre
Seoul 2033
Are we looking at the start of a large-scale nuclear attack shelter plan in South Korea?
While that is an added benefit, South Korea has grown tired of North Korea constantly digging tunnels for "coal" underneath their border... So South Korea is now digging tunnels for "shopping" underneath North Korea.
Would be pretty sweet for tourism if they do a good job at it. Cool idea.
as long as they don't pop open the circus we'll be fine
just rename seoul to bladerunner city already!
Why hasn't the SK Government tried to move most business/industry in Seoul to the south of SK, further away from the DPRK where only IRBMs can hit them (and howitzers can't)?
Why hasn't the SK Government tried to move most business/industry in Seoul to the south of SK, further away from the DPRK where only IRBMs can hit them (and howitzers can't)?
Because they're not afraid of North Korea lol

-snip- it works

A big enough explosion could cause all that to collapse and kill millions.
That's it, I'm moving to Seoul. Finally a country that takes some real precautions against all the refugee terrorist shitheads that's moving around lately, unlike what Norway does. Thanks to Norway being so closely associated with EU trough the EEA since we are members of EFTA, we are being forced to import shitloads of so called "refugees". Since the first batch of IS sleeping cells entered Norway the violence and rape percentage probably skyrocketed.. And the police ain't doing anything about it! Norway could really learn a lot from UK's Brexit process and cut all ties to EU with out own much better process, which we could call "NOEXIT", as its a good way to tell everyone that we're not really leaving EU, as we never really were members to begin with. But nooo, that would never happen, because Norway is a republican hellhole that couldn't have become worse even if Trump had been our leader. I hate this country so much. We used to be a good christian country, but now most of the people here follow the "religion of peace". I wonder how long time it will take before we remove the cross from our flag...
What the fuck?
