"People have put two and two together and they know that something cool could be coming down the line," said Robert Niles, a Disney expert and founder of Themeparkinsider.com.

All three parcels, a total of about 14.7 acres, are connected and sit across Harbor Boulevard from Disney California Adventure. Disney would not disclose how much it paid for the three parcels but property records say the total value of the land is about $60 million.
Source. As an employee of the Walt Disney Company, I am excited for any possible announcements that will come for the parks next week during the D23 expo.
Please let it be Star Wars. If I plan on doing the College Program I wanna work at the cantina.
I always liked how the corner plot of California Adventure is owned by a tiny hotel called the Candy Cane Inn that refused millions of dollars for there land.
STAR WARS
I'm not so sure about an expansion. Disney owns a fuck ton of land around their Florida park, but have refused to develop it. But that might be because it's all wetland and shit.
It is kinda the opposite in their California parks, which mostly have no breathing room when it comes to land, which is why these land purchases are a big deal, especially since some businesses in the area are extremely defensive about their land. It was one of the main reasons after all that WESTCOT got downgraded into DCA.
Interesting development. I saw on the local news a few weeks ago that the Anaheim City Council extended the Disney Corporation's tax exemption for 30 years. Some of the locals are understandably ticked off because of this, but I do believe that the development; especially this recent one would help the city even more with jobs, contract opportunities, etc. I'm curious how much the city benefits in hard numbers though. I remember when I drive towards Disneyland, you could see cast members in their costumes waiting for the buses to take them to work.
Wasn't there a rumour for Nintendo's theme park?
