This looks like it'll be something awesome
Looks interesting. Hard to say without the god powers and other goodies though.
Really pumped for this.
black and white 3 plz.
Holy shit it looks like they are actually going to make their kickstarter, 2 days for £12,000, last I checked it was like 4 days for £50,000. They have really been ramping up their videos and trying to get word out, I guess it had paid off with all the news sites reporting on their prototypes.
black and white 3 plz.
Will never happen, they don't have the rights
We need The Movies Two.
Come on Peter , prove that you still got it !
How's that supposed to be a game, You cannot do a damn thing besides move around land. It's like you're watching a simulation. I mean at least add some more gameplay elements?
Its a prototype made in 2 weeks to help the kickstarter be succeded

Kickstarter is super effective on the first 3 and last 3 days, that's where most of the money is pledged. Every Kickstarter I've backed or followed has been far off the goal right before the end where people stop procrastinating or holding back and just back the fuck out of the project. Just backed it, really liked b&w games, and this one looks pretty interesting!
We need The Movies Two.
This times a googolplex.
Love how they abused the landscape shaper.

They need an engine to run their game.

Honestly, I've been thinking of a game like this for some time. Hope it pulls through.
Depends on how you define engine. They need an engine to run their game.
A game engine.
Well so far it's running on Unity [sp]at a guess[/sp]
No, they have stated in their kickstarter updates that they currently do it all without the use of a game engine. It's all raw data exported straight from the programs they work with.
Obligatory
He didn't promised much about this game. He releases a Dev Diary every now and then that states how the game is going on in development and so far it looks pretty promising :v:
If there is something I can give to Peter its that hes pretty good at hyping up his games.

I skimmed through and looked for what you're talking about but I didn't see anything similar. Without a game engine there is nothing to fucking play what are you saying.

But on the other hand, what do I know, I don't know shit about coding and making games works.
There's nothing about not using an engine there, just that they don't have a very good pipeline.

But on the other hand, what do I know, I don't know shit about coding and making games works.
i read that. it has nothing to do with what you're saying. they are saying that they have a toolset that they are using, which allows them to do some preliminary work. there's no such thing as a game running on "pure code" like you say without there being a game engine. A game engine is just a bunch of code. If they are playing something then that means they are playing a game running on a game engine because that's what a game engine does. [editline]20th December 2012[/editline] why would you try to talk about programming, especially something as complex as a video game, if you don't understand the first thing about it
I wanna see log cutting and resource management and stuff. If the game doesn't have that sort of stuff I'm not really interested.

I've never played Dungeon Keeper but in Populous you pretty much only dealt with wood and mana as far as I can recall, and it never really focused on the resource gathering at all. There's no telling where Godus might end up, I doubt it'll go the usual RTS route though.
