Spectators ran for their lives after a bull jumped into the stands at a bullring in northern Spain injuring at least 30 people.
The terrifying incident happened in Tafalla, in the northern region of Navarra on Wednesday. The animal leapt over the fence and climbed up the stairs of the stands knocking over people, including young children.
A 10-year-old boy was in a serious condition with stomach wounds while another spectator was gored in the back, according to reports.
The incident occurred during a contest of "recortadores" when brave participants attempt to dodge the bull as it runs frantically around the arena. Spectators and officials later tied a rope around the bull to get it under control. The animal was removed from the arena by a crane and later killed.
It is extremely rare for a bull to jump over a security barrier and into the crowd.
The incident comes at a time when the country is split over whether bullfighting should be completely outlawed. Last month Catalonia became the first major Spanish region to ban the deadly sport after heated debate that pitted animal rights against a pillar of traditional culture.
The ban will take effect from 2012 in the northeastern coastal region whose capital is Barcelona.
I wouldnt say that they really deserved it, but thats simply what you get. They wanted to watch an animal die, the animal fought back.
They deserved it
I've seen what those shows are like, it's revolting
You'd think there'd be a bit more than short wall and fence considering the bulls are bred to be pissed off and thrash around everywhere
Atleast bullfighting has been banned from Catalonia. :buddy:
Poor bull :(
You are all wrong, there are shows with bullfighting in which the bulls aren't hurt, or killed. This was one of them.
Unless they jump in the audience.

It's still a pretty disgusting form of entertainment.
"Hey let's piss off this large dangerous creature with horns on its head-WHY IS IT ATTACKING PEOPLE!?"
If someone gets gored in a puppy parade, then you can be surprised.
I don't care if they ban it or not, just don't expect any sympathy from the rest of the world when Senior Bull goes loco and someone gets gored.

Every one jump over the fence into safety!
Why doesnt PETA Fight against actually bad things like (deadly) bullfighting.
I can't get enough of 0:09.
this isn't the first time this has happened so it looks like they haven't learned yet
OMG HOW COULD YOU VALUE A STUPID NOTHING BULL OVER A HUMAN LIFE
HUMAN LIFE IS SO PRECIOUS NOTHING ELSE MATTERS SO WE CAN TORTURE AND KILL ANIMALS WHENEVER WE PLEASE
c
Honestly it just seems like the bull had enough of the bull and got sick of being other people's entertainment
Heh, good on the bull.
Is that the Facepunch logo I see?

That looks nothing like it. It just looks like a normal face.
That's what you fucking get when you torture a fucking bull.
Spain has no common sense wtih this stupid sport.
Good. It's a barbaric sport and the fact they went to spectate means they support it.
I guess he was fed up with all the bullshit.
This is exactly why this shit needs to stop.
They had it comin.

By the way that bull is a fucking ninja.
Irony.
Someone in that crowd made eye contact with it or was wearing red.
Funnily enough the first person to get out of the way when the bull charged was wearing a plain red shirt, it was totally his fault.
Deserved it. Not the 10 year old though.
That's a load of bull.
Shouldn't it be obvious to make sure the fence is high enough so that the bull is unable to leap over? Or maybe its not so obvious......
