• Expensive bottled water v. free cups of water...?

Yes... many times I have noticed that if you go to any fast food place, you can by a bottle of water for two dollars, but you can just ask for a cup and fill it with water... for free. Why? At least make the people pay for the cup. One day, people are going to get smart. ... I'm sorry, this post is stupid. Just wanted to see what people think of this. :canada:
I'm pretty sure that the water cup thing is required by law
I prefer the taste of bottled water, but I rarely buy it anyways.
I'm pretty sure it's against the law to make people pay for tap water and that all restaurants are required to provide it.
At least make people pay for the cup? You want to have to pay for tap water..?
I was at a tennis thing and the canteen had bottle water for $2 and right beside the shop was a water cooler and 20 cups to fill up for free. I asked them why and I nearly got kicked out, fucking retarded.
Studies have showed that the tap water in North America is perfectly safe to drink right out the faucet. At least in Canada that is.
I'm pretty sure it's against the war to make people pay for tap water and that all restaurants are required to provide it.
War must rule, when will it come again?
In England it's illegal to charge for tap water but not a legal requirement to provide it to customers I believe.

In Norway there always a huge media ruccus whenever you CAN'T drink the tap water
I think it's pretty dumb to make someone pay for a little plastic cup.
Canada and USA it's fine, just Mexico where its questionable
Right, no arguments there.
In Norway there always a huge media ruccus whenever you CAN'T drink the tap water
In the USA there's never a media ruccus because you can always drink the tap water. :smug:
BOTTLE WATER, No thanks! I'll keep drinking my great lake water it's got a favor I can't place. Purified water tastes nasty.
For some reason, the only bottled water I can drink is Arrowhead. I don't know why...
on campus, .10$ for a cup + the benefit of water fountains / bottled water $2 + water fountain refills without the worry of making a mess, worth the extra 1.90$? yeah
I'm pretty sure it's against the war to make people pay for tap water and that all restaurants are required to provide it.
yeah it's totally against the war? anyway it's optional to charge for the service of serving water in restaurants and bars etc, most of them do not charge but god damn it's annoying when they do. one club i visited charged $1.5 for a glas of water
No megathreads
Also, no content. OT, I've never been anywhere that doesn't provide tap water for free. Most the time they seem to look the other way if you just use the soda fountain.
I like the fact they don't, plus tap water tastes better. I've always disliked the taste of bottled water for some reason.
Because the faucets in the vendor usually have all kinds of disgusting shit on them?
I asked for a cup to get water at the school cafe, and the lady said if you want water then you'll have to buy a bottle from the vending machine. :saddowns:

Tap water in this city is disgusting. I prefer bottled/seltzer water.
I asked for a cup to get water at the school cafe, and the lady said if you want water then you'll have to buy a bottle from the vending machine. :saddowns:
Definition of restaurant: "a commercial establishment where meals are prepared and served to customers". Sue them.
I don't like bottled water. It's always been too... tasteless. British tap water has god knows what in it, but I don't care because it's sweet and tastes holy.
Then tell her the law.
Does it apply to a college cafeteria?
Also, no content. OT, I've never been anywhere that doesn't provide tap water for free. Most the time they seem to look the other way if you just use the soda fountain.
Wait, this is a megathread? Sry I'm a fucking newb, haven't had a personal computer since 2004
I think it's pretty dumb to make someone pay for a little plastic cup.
Any place that sells drinks in plastic cups has already written off every single plastic cup as a business expense. Hell, they only pay like ~3c a cup, so it's negligible enough that it would actually be more of a hassle to make people pay for the cups as they could buy 20 cups per drink sold with markup and still be in the black.
In a fast food restaurant, ask for a cup then fill it up with soda. I'm a genius
