Hi. So I've bought Dragon Age: Inquisition without checking the minimum system requirements, and since I got it from Green Man Gaming I now can't get a refund. In any case, I want to play the game enough to upgrade my PC to do it. The main issue is my CPU: I have a dual core and I simply need a quad core. Below I've listed my computer as it stands:
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor
10 GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
MSI 770-C45 Motherboard
What I'm looking to do is upgrade as cheaply as possible to run DA:I well. If that takes upgrading more than the CPU, so be it, but I wanted to ask your advice because I know very little about hardware. I've also posted the minimum and recommended specs for DA:I (as written here) beneath to give some idea of what I'm after.
Minimum
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD quad core CPU @ 2.5 GHz/Intel quad core CPU @ 2.0 GHz
System RAM: 4 GB
Graphics CARD: AMD Radeon HD 4870/NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Graphics Memory: 512 MB
Recommended
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz/Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHz
System RAM: 8 GB
Graphics CARD: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory: 2 GB
I should also say I live in Ireland for shipping purposes.
Well, I'd rather review all my options before I decide, I guess. Any recommendations for a CPU + Motherboard combo?
Thanks for your help so far.

If you want to keep your motherboard, the best you could do is a Phenom II X6 1100t. Otherwise, it would have to be a motherboard upgrade, and perhaps an i5 chip.
isn't the x6 still outrageously priced?
Geez, yeah it is. Sorry, I didn't check recently and it's gone up since I last saw it. Used to be ~330 (I might have been lucky and saw it on sale though), now is 400.
