I'm ok with it. The ads not trying to give some sort of deep message, it's just meant to get your attention. In that regard I would say it achieves that.

It's like what they did with the cover, trying to draw in more people without changing the game to be more generic.

I love the instrumentals for this song but the vocals make me feel like my mom is yelling at me.
I dont get it. That looked pretty good to me? Coulda been better definitely but it was inherently bad. Also why is everyone saying boobs? Her tits were kinda big I guess but it's not like they emphasized it in any way at all. Definitely coulda done without the girl shouting things. Woulda been cooler.

I wasn't a fan of it, it just seemed to "flashy" and "action-packed" and whatnot, but I fully understand why it has to be that way.
I'm just spoiled I guess, because I fucking LOOOOOOVED Halo 3's ads, and as far as I am concerned NOTHING will top it. But the thing is, Halo 3 could get away with having a less attention grabbing action commercial because... It was Halo 3. Everyone knew about it. v:v:v

Halo in general has some of the best ad campaigns around. The live action ODST trailer will remain one of my favorite trailers of all time for anything, and I didn't even play the damn game. ODST's live action was good, but Halo 3's still struck me as the most memorable. The mockumentary style where they interview the veterans of the war with the covenant was the greatest idea. And the giant panorama.
And like I said, I know why they needed to advertise the game this way, I don't like it, but I don't blame them.

They're trying to get people that normally wouldn't buy Bioshock in hope that they actually would turn out to like it.
This is all just marketing, who cares how the marketing is as long as the game remains good? They didn't want to change the Bioshock experience, only how it was marketed.
Take Dead Island and Gears of War, their marketing is complete bullshit compared to what their games deliver. Bioshock is doing the same, marketing itself with a "we are really cool, if you enjoy games like Halo and Call of Duty you'll probably love this".
