• Skype - Can't see myself or the other person but they can see me.

This has only just started happening today, and I'm not sure what caused the problem. I've got it running on Windows 8.1 on an Acer Aspire-E1-522-5603 laptop and I currently have the latest version of Skype installed. When I call up someone I can't see them or myself in that little box, but they say they can see me. Their video doesn't show up at all and the little box that's supposed to be showing me is just a flickering gray texture. I've already tried restarting, reinstalling and updating Skype, and deleting the DbTemp folder. Checking my video settings shows that it recognizes my onboard Webcam, yet the preview box just shows up black. I also checked my webcam drivers and they are all up to date and working properly. I'm not sure what else I can do, and I don't know why this is suddenly happening. There's nothing I can think of recently that could have fucked up Skype like this. I did use CCleaner for the first time today to clean my laptop and registry but I doubt that could have caused any problems for Skype. I need help, it's crucial to me to get my Skype working because I use it to speak to someone very close to me. It's going to suck if I can't see her. Any sort of solutions are greatly appreciated. I just want to get this working again. Thanks.
Well if you're not fussy, you're in luck that there's two versions of skype on Windows 8, the desktop version and the metro one, so if the desktop version isn't working you can try that, I think the metro version has some disadvantages and not sure if the audio carries when you go back to the desktop
I'll have to download it later on and try it out.
No dice on that. Same situation for both Metro and Desktop version. Anyone else got anything for me?
