Gotta keep the (former) Planet Coaster team busy now that that game's out, I guess. I hope some of the PC crew have been helping with Elite while this new licensed title gets off the ground.
Star Trek pls.
tbh if it has the depth of ED but with a star wars filter slapped on im 100% on board
You know that the most common criticism of ED is that it's a mile wide and an inch deep, right? With the Horizons expansion adding airless planets, a bunch of mission overhauls, and the upcoming multicrew functionality, I think it'd be justified to upgrade it to two inches deep, but fundamentally it's still the same problem. I mean, if you're satisfied with what ED is as of now, more power to you, you can certainly like the thing. I would just hope for something more fleshed-out and comprehensive, because right now ED is a series of gameplay silos with very little connective tissue linking the different gameplay mechanics together. The last couple of major patches in Horizons have begun the process of strengthening those bonds, but it's still a long road ahead. Planet Coaster shows that Frontier can make good games even now (it has its bugs but from what I've heard it's very solid overall), but PC's scope is a theme park and ED's is the entire Milky Way galaxy and it relies nearly 100% on the crutch of procedural generation over designed content. I fear SWG2 would suffer from the same problems ED has.

Most of their focus seems to have been on the customization side of it, there are a lot of things with the game that don't feel as good as they should be.
