Not the best one but the most amazing(IMO) first.
I didn't even notice these weird blue sparks until I looked at it at my PC. I have no clue what they are or how they are created, I guess it's from the welding.
The cool thing: You don't see these sparks normaly. It's too bright and too fast. They almost look like the plasma arms you see in some lightning pics.
YOu'd say it is just smoke but it isn't, the thingies they are sitting in are to protect people from looking into the flame and they have a fan that sucks away the toxic gases!
Anyways, a little backstory:
I don't know if you guys have stuff like a tram in your city but in Germany, pretty much any major city has. These are not a metro or a subway, they drive completely atop, in the middle of the street, inbetween cars.
That means the rails have to be in top conditions.
Now what these guys do: They weld metal into the rails and then they grind the fuck out of it. YOu see them once in a while, only when it's dry and I NEVER had my cam with me when I met them. This time I was lucky.
I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

They are great shots man, but if you ever ever get the chance to take photos of them again at night then could you please stop further down and open your shutter for longer? i bet the longer trails would look great! awesome work mate
I didn't have my tripod with me and only my kit lens so opening up and longer wasn't possible, I already sorted out the ones that were too shaky.
Lesson: When with the car, take your equipment.
I'll try to do it ;D
ahhhh well i think you did a rather good job then!! aha yes man!
These are really cool looking, nice job! Feels so good to shoot an envisioned scenario.
Mate, these are really great.
I like the high iso. Makes it really gritty. Lovely stuff.
Kinda reminded me of W. Eugene Smith's Pittsburgh Steelworks stuff:

I got a few similar shots from my trip to Amsterdam with guys doing the same thing. Will get some of those up once I'm through my festival stuff.
Once again, top notch. Love it.
Thanks. I'm thinking of make kind of a series "people at work".
It doesn't have to be something gritty and extreme like the stuff up there though. A cashier at the counter or an architect drawing, or more amazing an architect visiting a building site and looking like a construction worker with the helmet would be cool too.
Also what I stil dislike now looking back is that the stalye is not coherent, i kinda tried to get the maximum amount of picture info out of it and that makes it like that, I'm not sure if the pictures looing kinda similar in style and processing would be better.
