Howdy folks, long time lurker here on Facepunch Studios.
I met a friend of mine on a night out recently and it turns out he just graduated with a law degree and now wants to join the army! I was like "what the fuck? - you spent 4 years paying college fees, accommodation and studied your balls off and for what?".
Is it just me or does he come across as a bit crazy?
P/s: I didn't say this to the guys face, I obviously wished him the best of luck.
What would you rather?
This

His choice. If he wants to do it, you have no say it.
Someone educated wants to support their country!
Obviously fucked in the head, report him to the nearest mental institute.
I guess it really depends on what he does.
But why would he pay for law college? Are you sure he didn't go to a military school to become an officer?
Who cares?
Maybe he wants some excitement or to serve his country.
You should be calling him brave, not stupid.
Support him, it isn't like the army is a terrible thing to join.

I totally agree. I cannot see what the American Army benefits at all for him?
He'll be two times more badass of a lawyer
Slam the desk yelling :objection: and break it in half

Maybe pride?
What the fuck..?
Say your FP name out loud to him.
This is an outrage! How dare someone defend their country and the freedom of fellow countrymen!
he wants to go in free at knotts berry farm becaus he served in the army
So that AFTER he serves, he can go ahead into a law firm

:v:
Why do you give a shit? It's his choice, not yours. You may bitch and moan about it but there's nothing you can do.
What a waste.
Maybe he wants to make money doing something exciting in his life. Why do you care?

Typical route for a politician is to get some army experience.

Most famous Politicians and Presidents have been in the Armed Services. It's not a bad thing at all. Not only that but it's not like when you join the Army you're instantly stuck into infantry. He could be a Lawyer for the Courts. (See the movie "A Few good Men") He's probably making a really good move toward his career, and you should support it fully.
Tell him to commission as an officer.
Wow really?
Does he know why we are in war?
To steal Oil mostly...

Is that the movie where the epic quote came from? "You can't handle the truth!"
