• Under $400 Canadian CPU + Graphics Card Gaming Upgrade on a 2006 computer

I have no knowledge on how to upgrade so I'm posting here. Hopefully someone could help me. Since it's my birthday today I'm planning to switch to PC gaming. The computer I'm using is from 2006 and the only setting I could play for most games is low if I want to get 20 fps framerate or higher on 1280 x 1024 resolution. I'm mainly looking for a graphics card and a CPU. I could reuse everything if possible. I'm planning to play mod heavy games like future titles in The Elder Scrolls Series and The Fallout Series, Dota, and Kerbal Space program. I probably need a new power supply and a lot of other things too. Please tell me if I missed anything. [editline]49[/editline] Update: I now have around $600 to spend, but I can spend it at one location, and there is going to be a huge private sale some time this month so the prices might even be less. It contains prebuilts and separate components http://www.futureshop.ca/en-ca/pc-gaming-sale.aspx I also downloaded that speccy thing, here is the summary
You're gonna have to change that motherboard if you want a good enough CPU, you can see what motherboard you have, and lots of other stuff with Speccy. By the way, Happy Birthday !
Where do you live? The US? And you'll probably need to do a complete overhaul of your system, I'm sad to say that there's probably nothing worth saving in your current one.
Where do you live? The US?
He said 400$ Canadian Dollars in the title, so I assume he lives in Canada.

Updated the OP with current specs, a new budget, and the store where I'm going to buy from.
98°c... Dude, make sure you have proper cooling next time
98°c... Dude, make sure you have proper cooling next time
Motherboard temperature sensors are wonky as fuck so some don't give out proper readings.

I'm assuming that you can reuse your current case, but that might not be so - could you open it up and take a picture of the motherboard? If it's a pre-built, it may not be ATX, and thus not compatible with the motherboard I've chosen. In theory you should be able to do CF 7850 on this system, though I wouldn't really recommend it because of the PSU - it may be Enermax branded, but it's still a budget unit. Still, the two PCI-E 6-pin connectors leave you with an upgrade path.

The parts need to be from that store I linked in the OP.

Those prepaid Vista cards that they sell at like Walmart would probably be your best way of purchasing then
