The new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is not only underwater in terms of likes and dislikes on YouTube (179K/322K), that dislike total means it is actually the single most disliked gaming-related YouTube video ever. There’s a playlist which keeps track of the most disliked videos on YouTube, and though it hasn’t yet been updated with Infinite Warfare’s total yet, that number of dislikes would put it at the 45th most disliked YouTube video of all time (out of millions) and there isn’t another gaming video in the top 100.

That’s quite a ratio. And you may think that someone like PewDiePie, the most popular YouTuber in the world and a sometimes divisive figure in the gaming community, might have some games-focused videos with massive dislikes, but take his most popular video ever (A Funny Montage), and with 72 million views, it only has 32,000 dislikes.
I feel it's kind of a band-wagon thing with the dislikes, but it is interesting nonetheless. Somehow the whole future warfare thing is already seemingly run it's coarse, at least with the COD franchise. To me, the Space Oddity cover didn't help... Note: The dislikes are calculated not as a ratio, but as an amount of dislikes... So, a video could have 1,000,000 dislikes and 3,000,000 likes and still rank very high on this list. Take that as you will. It's still technically a very large number of dislikes, considering it's for an official promotional video from Infinity Ward itself.
I don't even think the trailer was that bad. Honestly the space battles look fairly interesting and newish to the series, assuming it isn't a rail shooter which it probably is...
Damn, so it's more hated than Nintendo titles like Federation Force and Paper Mario Color Splash? Then again it's Call of Duty, of course it'd attract far more ratings and views in the first place.
It took the most obvious direction and outright ripped the story off from a dozen sci-fi movies/games/books. Doesn't help that Killzone has had this story for every game in the series thus far. Unless they actually make space battles part of the multiplayer somehow it's not going to do well on the critical side. The main issue is everyone now knows, even the people who enjoy the series, that they don't innovate nearly enough but this is new levels of expected.
Correct me if I am wrong but hasn't the single player basically been doing that since cod2 ?
To a certain point but the issue is they're doing this not so long after a big name series covered this entire concept across 3 games, technically more than 3 if you count the portable ones. It's one thing to take the barebones of a story but it's another to take a very specific concept that's been heavily explored very recently.

Rightfully so, forcing you to have one game to buy another one is an unprecedented scumbag decision. And a terrible precedent to establish. It's not like Youtube dislikes will change anything though, Activision knows that fans can't help themselves. "Dislike all you want, boycott all you want, we both know we have your money already".
Trailer isn't bad, just the fact that it is nothing original, and the gameplay mechanics are already guaranteed to be bad. They ripped off a whole lot of sci fi games, and don't even try to hide it. On top of that, just feels like it's putting lipstick on a pig. They should do something innovative, constructive, and worthy of the pricetag... Also, they should offer CoD4 remastered as a stand alone game, not something you gotta pay extra for.
I highly doubt the amount of dislikes on a trailer video is going to do anything anyway, so I don't see why they're wasting their time doing so. Disliking a video a bunch of times isn't gonna make the devs go "Welp, we should drop production"
Hilarious that the only Call of Duty that actually caught my attention is the one hated by it's target audience, I really want a 6DoF proper space themed game
Star Citizen?
People still get upset that a CoD game comes out every year?
I believe it's more related to the fact that they are holding the COD4 remaster hostage.
People still get upset that a CoD game comes out every year?
People weren't really upset about Advanced Warfare or Black Ops III. It's mainly Infinite Warfare being A.) extremely uninspired, and B.) packaged with a Modern Warfare remaster for pre-orders/special versions starting at $80, and it's the only way to get the game since the remaster won't be sold separately.
The trailer seemed cool but it seems like they just replaced the Russians invading storyline from MW with space colonists.
I believe it's more related to the fact that they are holding the COD4 remaster hostage.
That and the CoD fanbase that has no interest in "stupid futuristic space shit", it's an unfortunate combo for IW and Activision.
They kind of deserve it for that butchering of Space Oddity
the couple of peopel i know who are into COD are only interested in infinite warfare for the modern warfare remake
Hilarious that the only Call of Duty that actually caught my attention is the one hated by it's target audience, I really want a 6DoF proper space themed game
I'd say to give Shattered Horizon a try, but it seems to have completely disappeared from online stores.
I thought the new Ghostbusters film is the most hated on YouTube lol
I've never been this interested in a COD game before, this looks genuinely cool
How do we know that this is legitimate and not some kind of a publicity stunt? It's a fact that people will buy this no matter what. For all we know, they could have bought all those dislikes by the belief that bad publicity is the best kind.
any word on whether or not with this release Activision plans on supporting the Nintendo NX?

Deserved dislikes. They are not about the fact that this is another CoD game it is all about forcing people to buy Infinite Warfare to get the Remastered Edition. Wonder if they change their mind due to pressure before release. Either way it is gonna be fun to see how they both will compare in the STEAM player activity. I have this feeling that the Remaster will be ahead in numbers.
Honestly, I'm more looking forward to the remastered edition, and if they offered it independent of the other game, I'd buy it.
I'd say to give Shattered Horizon a try, but it seems to have completely disappeared from online stores.
This is because the developer was bought by Rovio (the Angry Birds guys) and Futuremark couldn't sell it anymore. Same with their tower defense game.
Honestly, I'm more looking forward to the remastered edition, and if they offered it independent of the other game, I'd buy it.
My bet is they are going to require you to get IW to play it until sales drop off then sell it standalone.
This is because the developer was bought by Rovio (the Angry Birds guys) and Futuremark couldn't sell it anymore. Same with their tower defense game.
I thought Futuremark got to keep the rights to those games.
They should of just done a CoD collection gauging by everyone reaction and demand for a standalone MWR, Its about all I would trust Infinity Ward to do this day and age.
