If it goes on to be approved by the Senate, Uruguay will become the first country to regulate the production, distribution and sale of marijuana. The law is backed by the government of President Jose Mujica, which says it will remove profits from drug dealers and divert users from harder drugs. Under the bill, only the government would be allowed to sell marijuana.
Please don't fuck this up, guys. The rest of the world needs to see that this can work.
Looks like the earth is gonna become green again soon
Looks like the earth is gonna become green again soon
We must replace the de-forested parts of the amazon with giant fields of cannabis.
We must replace the de-forested parts of the amazon with giant fields of cannabis.
That'll make forest fires much more interesting.
Remember guys, this still has to pass through the senate before it's signed into law. However, i won't deny this is an extremely important step in global legalization. Is there anyone for Uruguay on facepuinch who can offer some insight?
I still don't get why do you people want marijuana to be legal so terribly bad.
Please don't fuck this up, guys. The rest of the world needs to see that this can work.
Its already been proven to work by a couple of other countries...
I still don't get why do you people want marijuana to be legal so terribly bad.
Because they enjoy smoking it and would like to be able to enjoy it without the possibility of being arrested? Same reason why people like having alcohol being a legal substance.
Because they enjoy smoking it and would like to be able to enjoy it without the possibility of being arrested? Same reason why people like having alcohol being a legal substance.
Oh, makes sense. And why don't we legalize other drugs as well now that we are at it?
I still don't get why do you people want marijuana to be legal so terribly bad.
Because prisons are being flooded with pot users who aren't really any danger to society and the whole drug war is fueling violent crime.
Oh, makes sense. And why don't we legalize other drugs as well now that we are at it?
We should really, but you mention that heroin, cocaine and a bunch of other shit should be legal and regulated and everyone flips there shit.
We have a war on drugs and a war on terror to distract us from what's in front of us.
Oh, makes sense. And why don't we legalize other drugs as well now that we are at it?
We really should, why shouldn't we? Cannabis is a step in the right direction though.
We really should, why shouldn't we? Cannabis is a step in the right direction though.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
Well people are free to consume alcohol and tobacco and that stuff causes a ton of social and health problems. Prohibition didn't work out so well.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
Yeah cause that's what legalisation and regulation means, you can walk into your average store and just ask for 100% heroin. Here's how it should be done: 1: Only sold at local pharmacies for hard drugs. 2: Maximum amounts set for each month for drugs, like a couple of grams of heroin, a higher amount for cocaine and other similar drugs. 3: Anyone wanting to get any of the drugs should go through a stringent set of psychological and physical tests for each drug they want and should essentially have a licence for each material. 4: Offer rehabilitation for anyone who wants it and have check ups every few months to test if a user has become addicted and adjust amounts based on that and tolerance. Somewhat surprisingly it's not a case of either totally illegal and incredibly dangerous, and available everywhere and incredibly dangerous.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
And here, we, go.
Looks like the earth is gonna become green again soon
Yes forests and jungles cleared for Marijuana to be grown. Fool of a took.
Oh, makes sense. And why don't we legalize other drugs as well now that we are at it?
The 'Drugs are bad m'kay?' argument there.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
One thing that you should understand about users of drugs like meth, crack/cocaine, prescription pills and heroin is that they will rob/injure/kill from family and friends to get the drugs that they NEED. If they don't get their fix, they will start having withdrawl symptoms which makes them go to extreme measures to get the drugs they are addicted too. This is not necessarily the case when it comes to weed.
Yeah, why not, let's make it so you can find meth and cocaine at your local store.
If you compare that statement to how it is today you would understand that it is perhaps for the better to allow "hard drugs" to be purchased through pharmacies/clinics. I think that by removing the dealer and replacing it with a pharmacy you can reach out to the drug user (or abuser) more easily. Thus, if the individual wants to quit drugs; you can more smoothly reach out to said person. It would also be easier to inform of the dangers of the specific drug they are using. We would also perhaps remove the possibility of drugs being laced shit. Safer for the user and the community.
THE ISSUE ISN'T WHICH DRUG IS LEGAL/BETTER FOR YOU/WHATEVER. The issue is the government telling you which substances you can and cannot put in your body. As I have said before, if you have anything that alters conscious as legal, they must all be legal. If one is illegal, they should all be illegal. You can't pick and choose just because you like this/don't like that.
also if drugs are regulated then they'll be way less likely to be contaminated or anything like that, so if anything you'd be preventing drug-related deaths
First country? I though it was already legal in North Korea?
Oh, makes sense. And why don't we legalize other drugs as well now that we are at it?
are you actually stupid or
First country? I though it was already legal in North Korea?
"Dude, we should like, totally blow up the United States and South Korea" "Yeah, after this joint dude." They never finished that joint.
