• How do I put Steam Games in offline with Deamon Tools?
    42 replies, posted
I havent been on in forever and had to go weeks with no internet so I couldnt play Gmod or Hammer, and when I got home, I looked up on how to put steam games like Gmod, Hammer, Terraria ect. in offline with Deamon, and they used something called ISO, but I didnt fully understand. I have another long trip comeing up and at the moment I am installing millions of SVN updates, can someone tell me how to ISO my steam games or give me a video? I used it erlier to copy my Sims 3 and Black and White 1 games to my laptop, so if you could give me general directions i could follow them. Thanks. ALSO Please try to tell me within the next hour or two, I gotta start packing tonight. Thanks. But if not, you can post anyway and I will have my dad take me to a Barnes and Noble so I can check my facepunch and see what yall told me to do. Thanks soooo much guys! What I do is run my games in online mode to make sure it is fully updated, then switch to Steam offline mode, then re-run them to make sure, and usually it works fine.
No, I have to turn my ;aptop off with in my 2 week outta town trip. i have to be able to play them whenever I want. So I need toknow how to ISO my games.
you don't turn your games into iso's that is all i can say
You can start steam in offline mode after a reboot [editline]7th February 2012[/editline] also, wrong section [editline]7th February 2012[/editline] also, what he said ^
now having all your games on steam is going to hurt you a little bit - you must login at least once before going into offline mode. Your only one hope is to login to steam, then hibernate your laptop and wake it up whenever you want to play. But if you turn it off - say bye bye to your games [editline]7th February 2012[/editline]
You can start steam in offline mode after a reboot
my first pc broke and refusees to recognize the router (That's why I'm on my XP laptop), and guess what steam says? Unable to connect to the Steam network. "Offline mode" is unavailable because there is no steam login information stored on this computer. You will not be able to use steam until you can connect to the steam network again.
No, if people put them on Pirate Bay, and UTorrent, and Megaupload ect, there is a way to do it! And I do not believe this is ther wrong section. there isnt even a section for the topic of my Question and Sticky has nothing against this question.
No, if people put them on Pirate Bay, and UTorrent, and Megaupload ect, there is a way to do it!
Yes, it's possible, but then you require a crack and all of this warezy stuff. No idea if I can talk about it without getting banned tho.
When you want to make sure that steam will start in offline mode, and not try to update or something, you can disable any network interfaces installed in the computer, via the 'network connections' window. That seems to work pretty well in forcing steam into offline.

that's like asking 'how do I turn off a car with a toaster?'
that's like asking 'how do I turn off a car with a toaster?'
Do you even know what you types or did you just type what came to your mind LOL?
Unfortunately, your method seems way too complex when you can just force steam offline, and then start steam up. Make sure all your games are updated beforehand, and all of them will work fine.
Tried it, DR House, and it all failed. D:
Last I checked offline mode was fucked, did Valve finally fix it?
Actually buy the game and it will work in offline.
Tried it, DR House, and it all failed. D:
Make sure you set steam to save your login info and try again. Literally, there is no reason why steam shouldn't boot in offline mode if you have it save your credentials and then force it offline.
More like "How do I drive a turned off car with toaster?"
Well, Logically, you cant, so why would a typical person asked that? and to turn a car off with a toaster, squeeze the handle down, and insert the key into a toast slot, then turn to the left, 9Or right if your a london guy) and turn the car off, then step out of the car, go into your house/apartment, and watch redtube. When i turn my puter on it goes cannot find suitible network blah blah and it asks me to retry to connect.
hello in order to play using offline steam mode, you have to log in at least once during your pc session. If you turn you PC off, you are done. During my trips I always hibernate my laptop instead of turning it off. Works perfectly fine and keeps my offline steam mode.
make sure everything is 100% updated, including steam itself, to start online mode properly, OR leave steam online, and keep your computer on sleep mode (better not turn it off)
Actually buy the game and it will work in offline.
I have a legit copy, If i didnt, how would I be able to play on servers?
so basically, turn your steam on, change it to offline mode, disable your net and bon voyage

Unless Valve broke it recently
Yes it broke it I just tried it and I terminated my conector and it was asking to connect. i put steam in offline.
ITT: How to get banned
isn't there some utility in steam that allows you to back everything up onto cds/dvds? i don't know if i'm anywhere near the mark
ITT: How to get banned
Why would I get banned for asking this? Its a generl question under general discussion. If you download ANY Steam game from these websites, then you're pirating them. Talking about pirating games is a ban-able offense on here and it's also pretty illegal. You're also really fucking stupid for posting this at all. Granted, if you already own the games, then I don't think that downloading the iso would be piracy since you already own it. I could be wrong though.
