It'll work just fine. I have the same with a GTX 460 and an i5 2500k, but I'm going to go ahead and complain about the bottleneck anyways, if this is for gaming you'd be better off getting a Phenom x4 955 and a better video card, you could even get a i3 2100 if you wanted.

It isn't for gaming at all, i just have the 5670 on my hands so i can just as well use it. I just bought the 500W psu, just to find out that my motherboard is completely dead.

most if not all decent modern PSUs have EPS / CPU power connectors as a [url=http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/eps4plus4.jpg]4+4 pin[/url], meaning it's an 8 pin made of 2 separate blocks of 4
low end motherboards may only need the 4 so you plug 4 in and leave the other 4 hanging off it
mid/high end mobos will take the 8 in which case you clip the two 4s together and plug them in as 8
