Outside of specific series or assets (like specific issues or story arcs, or specific shows like the DC Animated Universe shows like Batman the Animated series or Justice League) DC has just filler stuff that is forgotten over the ages. IDW overlords? I understand people buy their books but personally I hate them. All they really do is spinoff comics like Dr Who and True Blood. Valiant is going to be the next big thing in my opinion.
