Might give this a shot when it goes on sale, I love the hitman series although I am quite low on cash. Anyway how is this game?
Wait, this is 50 bucks. Eidos, thank you for sticking to 49.
Purist mode + Suit only. Only way to play
The only problem is that, atleast with the first mission, it's all linear as fuck. I had to get creative with using some gunshots to lure people away from where I needed to go. Then I decided to fool around with a disguise and was shocked to see that everyone could instantly recognize me. I don't know if it's just horrible gameplay mechanics or if it's a feature.
I think it's because it's a tutorial.
This released before midnight PST and AC3 releases at 11am? Fuuuuck....
Well the first mission is a tutorial mission (unless your talking about the missing after that one, then i wouldn't know) And what people dont think about with disguises is that when you disguise yourself as say, a guard, other guards will notice you arent one of them easy since, well... they know each other better? Hell i don't know, somehow it just makes sense to me.

I like how there's 47 achievements.
Why does this game have to finally come out the night I have assloads of work to do
Yeah the way I worded that post made it seem like I was saying the game was linear. Only the first (tutorial) level is. Not a fan of the checkpoints though.
Blood Money's tutorial was linear too. Really like this game so far; need to play more after work.
All the early reviews have been good fyi.
I get this with the graphics card I'm upgrading too, can't wait
btw disguises do work, you can use instinct (if you've got it in the difficulty you're playing on) to make yourself less recognizable as you walk by others that may blow your cover. but otherwise if you're not using instinct you will have to be sneakier.

Needing to use instinct kills it. If you play on Purist, you're fucked.
wrong thread fuck

Welp, its released and 100% downloaded yet when I try to start it it downloads and gets stuck there...can't play the game GG Steam
Why doesn't it say the amount of disk space it'll use?
I did not receive my TF2 items. I don't know whether to be pissed or not. Still, I pre-purchased I should get my rewards.. :C (for those who didn't know you receive 6 TF2 items if you prepurchased)
Why doesn't it say the amount of disk space it'll use?
Not sure but it's 25gb.
Everyone keeps bitching about everything/nothing about this game but i had a blast of a time playing it at Firstlook. And i got used to the Disguise system pretty fast, worth the money by far
No need to act like a jerk to me since it was an observation, dude. The Day 1 DLC wouldn't deter from my opinion on the game and company, because it's just cosmetics and optional. I apologize if I have caused any minor confusion and/or frustration.
I'm just saying man, literally every game does this. Played for about 9 hours or so now. Pros: - The new disguise system is a fun and fresh switch from the old games - The levels are somewhat linear, but honestly I think they're really well made anyway - Cinematics were nice - Graphics are lubbly - Contracts mode is slightly more entertaining than I thought it would be - Even Expert is fucking hard (and I've played a lot of Bloodmoney and also completed Silent Assassin) Cons: - I really enjoyed being able to pick my guns before I went in - Contracts needs some real work done to it. It's far too easy to get rich quickly by running in guns blazing It's worth the money, but I still feel a little disappointed. I was expecting something along the lines of the old Hitman games, but this is something different. It's still good, but don't buy it expecting that it'll follow the MO of the series. Seems to be half way between Splinter Cell: Convicion and Hitman: Blood Money. I really think Absolution should have called up on some of its old features to make this thing a new classic. I feel they could have stayed a little more true to the rest of the series. That said, it's a very good game in its own right.
RIP Map I knew you well
