Starwars Rebels to focus on teenagers as main characters
"Not only is the show about the formation of the Rebel Alliance, taking place in the narrative space between Episodes III and IV, the title also riffs on the main characters. I've learned that most of them are teenagers. Rebellious teenagers? Well, that's the reference, at least."
Of course, it's obvious that Disney are keen to play to a young audience… that is their target demographic after all. But I get the feeling that many 'Star Wars' fans will be worried by the direction Disney seem to be taking the galaxy far, far away. Recent casting calls for 'Episode VII' suggest an ensemble cast of younger actors… and with the news that 'Star Wars Rebels' might focus on a group of teenagers, it seems that the 'Star Wars' universe could be gearing itself towards a younger audience. There were plenty of older rebel characters you see in the books and even the movies, why...though I wouldnt mind if this focused on Red Squadron (Before they became Rogue Squadon). Wedge ftw.
Why?
Repeat:
WHY?
maybe as some Spin off TV Show or something but not the Main fucking Movies.

That's exactly what Rebels is.
The casting call for the movies called for more older men than younger, and Hamil was in his twenties for New Hope.
Relax.
"rebels" is an animated TV show
that being said, the casting call for VII is as follows
Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.
Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.
A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.
A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.
Forty something male, fit, military type.
Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

nowhere near enough to judge. still assuming the whole thing'll be shit though
And let's not forget the pent up teenage angst of Anakin Skywalker.
All that angst. It's going to be very painful.
I hope this doesn't have Asoka in it or anything, dislike her...

Let the angst flow through you...

lots
People are freaking out like you don't have a majority of young people in the Star Wars resistance based simply on, y'know, the fact that there are more of them than other age groups?
If it isn't the movies, then it's fine. Other than the audience pandering, it might be decent.

I am just reminded of this.
That sucks. Teenagers's life is pretty uninteresting.

maybe if you spend it sitting all day behind a computer

Normal teenagers life is also boring. The only highlights are firsts, I'd rather have a fully developed character not some child.
I sincerely hope they do Vader right, it'd be badass to see Vader going around killing jedi/rebels.
FORGET THE EMPIRE; WE'RE LATE TO THE PROM
FLY US TO CORUSCANT HIGH
*teen college rock*

Oh boy what a badass Vader is. Killing teenagers? No wait its a disney show, I expect Vader will fail to catch the kids every episode and get punished by Palpatine. Think Team Rocket style. Most people don't care about it if Vader is made a joke, they got away with it in the Clone Wars with the villains and you people gave it good reviews because they made a few impressive episodes that were "dark."
fuck me

Everyone complains about disney buying star wars and watering it down but they bought Marvel too and this happened

Why couldn't they just make something that finishes the Story of Starkillers clone at the end of TFU2 instead of this...

Because Starkiller is a boring as shit character that is completely overpowered.

You have a sad life.
Because Starkiller is a boring as shit character that is completely overpowered.
Well that makes him the first damn Jedi to make sense from the viewpoint of logic to an extent. The rest were just a bunch of nutjobs waving around swords, waiting for someone to get 3 braincells together and start throwing RPGs their way.
i wish anakin would stop smoking weed and skateboarding all day and fucking attack hoth
Because Starkiller is a boring as shit character that is completely overpowered.
To be entirely fair, that'd be pretty good in that case.
The Jedi up to this point were a bunch of old pricks who refused to use their power to its full capability, and even the Sith we've seen aren't that powerful (the most powerful I can think of would be Revan, but that wasn't a film)
speaking of Revan, why don't they do a film in the old republic era? That is so fucking ripe for the picking, I wanna see the mandalorian wars
