• Marlux MR-215 restoration, need help re-applying the string

We all know what time does on vintage equipment, mechanical ropes rot and break, now I'm trying to repair the tuner string, the tuner itself is working, but you can only tune the radio when the cover is off, not that handy and dangerous. There are a few videos about this amplifier which are mine though. Does anyone have any idea how to get it back going? Also, my apologizes if this is the wrong section! What has plobly happened is the pullys have became worm done over its long life time, u could try using a dermal and putting a small grove in the pulleys that are bad and seeing if that work, you will have to be rather care full not to cut to deep and keep it pretty strait. Thin use alittle tighter string, if u vant find one try mounting a tentoner pulley some how. Please note that im a large diesel truck mechanic and know nothing about radios
