• Dubstep track I made for my in-depth study

I have an upcoming in-depth study surrounding Dubstep and Electro in general. I'm not gonna post the paper I'm writing since it's in Norwegian, but I would love some feedback on the little track I made as an example to show the class. It's relatively short and basic I guess, but I'm pretty happy with it. Also I'm of course going to show some more "classical" Dubstep tracks to them, but they'll be from other artists.
I like it, but the segment right before the drop needs work. Seems a little unfitting.
This is one of the most awful dubstep songs I have ever heard.
Norwegian you say? Have you ever heard of the best mixer that's from Norway? You can't get much more underground than that. Anyway I fucking love the elements you used, for a study it is quite impressive. I always thought that studying the genre would do some good, i only really got format down from what i speculated. You combined good melody to a nice wobble patch, the wobble seems a little bit strong though. Other than that its GREAT, It doesn't have that repetative over-use that most dubstep producers have.
This is one of the most awful dubstep songs I have ever heard.
aw cmon dont say that, thats mean i think its pretty good for an early attempt or for schoolwork. could use work but that comes with practice
This is one of the most awful dubstep songs I have ever heard.
gj giving crits so he can improve. and really well done on the not being an ass part. I like it personally. Really harsh on the high end and that kinda ruins the song. Give it some warmth.
Thanks for the critique. I know it definitely has the potential to sound better, however I did make the synths from scratch (and the drum samples), and I'm not a pro so of course it's not gonna sound perfect yet, but then again I would rather do it this way than getting a perfect sound with other peoples patches/presets...
It sounds like two completely melodies are playing at the same time, and they don't fit at all.
It sounds like two completely melodies are playing at the same time, and they don't fit at all.
What do you mean? Both melodies are in the same key and scale. I'm not blindly defending here, I just don't really know what you refer to. Do you mean the sound of the synths, or the rhythm of the melody lines?
It sounds like two completely melodies are playing at the same time, and they don't fit at all.
I hate to say but he is kind of right. Only sometimes i can hear that it doesn't fit. Just single out your wobble and add maybe two more patches and mix your drop down.
