A man was killed in a car crash as he followed an ambulance carrying his sister, who had just committed suicide. Brenda Tucker, 21, was at her family-owned bar early Sunday in Detroit, Mich. when she took a gun, walked into a back room, and shot herself, Detroit News reported. Her uncle, Eddie Falbo, said Tucker suffered from depression. Attempts to stop her suicide failed. “She grabbed a gun, and I took it away from her head,” Falbo said. “Others were talking to her. I came out the door and heard, 'pop.' It was terrible. There were about eight to 10 people in the bar -- everyone heard it.” An ambulance took her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. As her brother, 20-year-old Ricky Tucker, raced to the hospital to check on her, he was struck by an SUV and killed, police told the Detroit Free Press .
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/28/ricky-tucker-car-crash_n_4169631.html It happened over 2 weeks ago but I feel its still relevant enough to post.
That's really sad and unfortunate.
I can't imagine what the family would be going through right now. I've see this happen exactly once in my line of work that I can remember, and to see the devastation in those that were left behind left me feeling really empty for a few days after the incident. All we can do is pray for the departed and hope that the others pull through from this and find the strength to go on living.
I'm sure he was so distraught by the ordeal that he wasn't in the clearest state of mind to be tailing at high speeds. Poor guy.
-nvm, misread OP-
Dont chase emergency vehicles.
Dont chase emergency vehicles.
unless they're escorting you
It's a really sad thing but the last time I saw an ambulance it said "DO NOT TAIL" in big bold letters for cases like this. Sad.
Dont chase emergency vehicles.
Chasing an ambulance is stupid - what do they want to get to the front door first? Following to me seems perfectly legit, at a safe distance going at a safe speed - I see no problem in that. It seems he was following, but not going at a safe speed, and in whatever panic he was in doing a Formula 1 jobby behind an ambulance is very stupid. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] and don't get me wrong, this is horrific and I feel incredibly bad for the family.
