Buying a low/mid range laptop! What will and what won't run?

I found this great laptop! So I thought I'd ask what it can't run and what it can :)
So these are the specs:
i5 4200U 1.6ghz
4gb DDR3 RAM (upgradable)
GT820M 2GB
Looks quite good honestly. I saw some gameplay of a laptop which was a bit lower spec-wise (i3 3370u,6gb ram,gt720m)
It ran bf4 at medium at 1336x768 so I think it is pretty good :)
Thanks :D
I hope it can run gta 4,gta san andreas (no brainer), TF2, CS:GO and minecraft. And then some like watch dogs and BF4 :D
Watch dogs at low, bf4 medium, gta4 at medium again everything else maxed out cause source engine
low at 1336x768 right (Watch Dogs) so I guess I could run at at 1280x720 medium right?
Also pipe dream but will it run gta v at medium 720p?
But yeah, thanks :D

The difference between 1366x768 and 1280x720 is 92928 pixels, pretty much nothing. If it runs one at low it probably will only run the other at low.

Really? On my old pc Black Ops 2 ran better at 1600x900 medium than 1920x1080 medium.
huh :/
Yes, but that's a difference of 633600 pixel, over 6 times the difference between 1366x768 and 1280x720. So you'd be expecting less than a 6th of the performance increase you got in that situation.
You should be able to manage Fallout: New Vegas on high. I used to have a GT 610 and it played it at high.

1600x900 is 1.4 million pixels per frame.
1920x1080 is 2 million pixels per frame.
Going from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 is a 44% increase in resolution. 1280x720 to 1366x768 is a 10% increase starting from a much smaller number.

Going from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 is a 30% increase in resolution. 1280x720 to 1366x768 is a 10% increase starting from a much smaller number.
ah alright :0
But is it a good laptop overall? Comes with win 8/8.1
You haven't told us the brand or cost, so we can't really answer that from you. Could be a low cost from a shit brand, and still be a terrible purchase. Could be a medium price from a great brand and be a good buy.

The cheapest laptop with those specs on google is the Acer Aspire E5 and the rest are roughly $700 and up, so that's really the only "low-mid range" laptop with those specs.
Any other choice and OP would just be vaaaaaastly overpaying when he could be getting actually decent specs. Although the value of the E5 is questionable as well.
OP, why do you wanna play games on a laptop?

lan parties and gaming on the go in general, especially when travelling
He also just might not have the room for a full desktop setup. I'm kind of in that boat at the moment myself...
-snip, didn't see the dGPU-
That single core performance is going to be low, while there is multicore in source, I feel like it will still feel weak at running tf2 and csgo, but will run them.
