• Gamer PC Suggestions?

Hello there, I'm thinking of spending $3,000 - $4,000 on a good gamer PC. So, should I buy one? Alienware, MSI etc? Or should I build my own? If any of you have experience in building a good rig, come up with some good information please :)
Build your own, Alienwares are fucking shit for their price. $3000-4000 is pretty steep, a gaming PC would set around $1800 or if lucky $1200. Use the left overs for peripherals or a new monitor if you want.
A GTX 690 is well within your budget. I recommend two 670s though. LGA 2011 offers powerful processors with six cores, but games won't really run faster than an i7 Ivy Bridge, unless you're going hardcore with four video cards.
Could someone here build a PC for $3500 etc with monitor, and I will take a look at it.

[editline]11th June 2012[/editline] Probably the best build for around $1600 and its more than what you need for gaming, you don't need an i7, over 8 gigs of ram is overkill, You could add a 2nd gtx 670 if you wants. Get a 690, a 512gb SSD, a 120hz monitor OR a 27" monitor with very high resolution.
Get a 690, a 512gb SSD, a 120hz monitor OR a 27" monitor with very high resolution.
2 670's will out perform a 690 and is $200 cheaper, it would make more sense to run a raid 10 setup instead of getting a 512 gb ssd, I will agree on the 27 inch monitor or the 120 hz though.

The i7 was just an example I used to compare with due to the fact that it represents the highest tier LGA 1155 processor.
Yes I said raid 10 because he could get 2 SSD's and run them in raid 1 and then 2 regular hard drives in raid 0. SSD's for speed and reg HDD's for backup. Correct me if I mixed up raid 0 and raid 1.
I'm serious guys, i actually want to spend $3500. Just bring some sick ass computers, cause they will be used for work, gaming etc

[editline]11th June 2012[/editline] That, or get an extremely good monitor. http://h20331.www2.hp.com/hpsub/cache/596803-0-0-225-121.html?jumpid=www.hp.com/go/dreamcolor

[editline]11th June 2012[/editline] Be sure to get an h100, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181017&Tpk=h100 every retard needs one. [editline]11th June 2012[/editline] Can't forget your mouse http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826333013 and keyboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0BV0958828

Thank you.. You're so kind.
Cause only retards blow $4000 on a computer they are going to use for just gaming.
Cause only retards blow $4000 on a computer they are going to use for just gaming.
Lol, sorry for asking you.
Lol, sorry for asking you.
He's not the only person who is going to tell you that.
seriously a top of the line computer is only around $1500 save the extra money for gas or a rainy day
Lol, sorry for asking you.
Seriously man, you're going to regret spending this much. I mean eventually we'll have more than DirectX 11, and higher shader models and new features that your 4 GTX 670's won't support. Then you will have to replace the most expensive part of your system to play and you'll be disappointed with the build. It'd be so much easier to do what Zerokateo is suggesting and spending less money on the build, but keeping the other $2000 that you're planning on spending on the build in your bank for future upgrades when they roll around. Bottom line is you'll be disappointed with yourself if you buy the $4000 one. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life. OK, maybe not that long. But listen to Zerokateo. He knows his shit.

Four hard drives, which I guess if you need a lot of storage or redundancy. The 2x8GB of RAM is plain overpriced, just get 4x4GB of RAM. 1350W PSU... no average desktop will use that much. Don't spend money just to spend money, buy what you need and save the rest or you will regret it.
Okay, I will buy a $1500 rig, and save the money for a new rig in 5-6 years
Okay, I will buy a $1500 rig, and save the money for a new rig in 5-6 years
Or alternatively you could just upgrade it as big new hardware comes out instead of just doing a blowout every few years. But with the $1500 build Zerokateo has put together, you won't need to upgrade anything for a while.

Can someone pull up those parts for him for me? I can't get newegg to load.
I'm going to put this into perspective. Even a mac user could struggle to justify spending $4000 on a computer.
Where did he build it? I don't know where i can buy it with no link included.
He built it on Newegg.
Kay, thank you
Kay, thank you
What kind of work? 3D modelling or heavy video editing?
He built it on Newegg.
I'm going to laugh if he gets the parts in the mail and he's all sad because it isn't built, just a heads up, you will have to put it together in case you haven't realized that. I had a friend who didn't once and spent $3,000 on a PC just to break half the parts trying to put it together.
Build a computer that costs $1500. Then tape the remaining money covering the case.
