Niccolo Paganini was a violin virtuoso, known for his extremely (read: insanely) difficult pieces and techniques. He started playing at the age of six, often practicing around 15 hours every day, and gained popularity through touring in his mid teens. As he became more and more well-known and skillful, people began to think that he sold his soul to the devil for his musical skill. He also wore skin-tight all-black outfits on stage, made dramatic entrances and exits, and rolled his eyes into his head while playing, which helped to further this image. He died at the age of 57 in 1840, and the Catholic Church denied him burial because of his supposedly satanic associations. Eventually his grandson put Paganini's body on public display before the Church allowed it to be buried. TL;DR He's the original rockstar/musical badass Step aside Ozzy Osbourne. Anyways, here's some music from him. 18 year old Eric Silberger playing Paganini's most well-known piece, Caprice No. 24 in A minor, considered one of the most difficult violin pieces ever written:
Urm... Mr Bean with a gaunt expression behind the violinist at around 30 seconds. :byodood:
I wonder what it would be like if he was reborn as a metal guitarist... :aaaaa:
I wonder what it would be like if he was reborn as a metal guitarist... :aaaaa:
Yngwie Malmsteen says Paganini is one of his main influences. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline] You can hear some Paganini-esque stuff in Malmsteen's music.
The devil himself watches the young violinist play. Just like in Paganini's days...

:what: A Paganini thread and everyon'e commenting on something completely irrelevent. Come on now! Paganini is awesome, his violin concerto and La Campenella are also great. Wish I knew more by him... Fun fact: Franz Liszt became inspired to write virtuoso piano music after seeing Paganini perform at a concert.
Paganini is probably my favorite musician ever Paganini and Liszt are bros
:what: A Paganini thread and everyon'e commenting on something completely irrelevent. Come on now!
Yeah sorry about that. :smug: His pieces are amazing, some powerful stuff.
:what: A Paganini thread and everyon'e commenting on something completely irrelevent. Come on now!
Commenting on something completely irrelevant, such as Paganini? :raise:
Commenting on something irrelvant such as the Mr. Bean musician in the video.
Commenting on something irrelvant such as the Mr. Bean musician in the video.
I don't see everyone talking about him.
Then call it an overreaction on my part.
Stop complaining I apologized and complemented the piece. Move on. :smug:
