Hey guys, Hamachi has been doing alot of maintenance this week, so i havn't been able to fiddle around with my friends on old games like we usually do. Do you know of any way to simulate a LAN connection with another method?
I noticed a couple other, very untrustworthy looking programs on google, and aside from that, we've attempted to use VPN networking, but it doesn't show multiplayer games in the lobby, nor do my friend's machines pop up on the network.. So my guess is VPN is more of an access thing and less of a LAN.. thing... Any suggestions?
I've used both Hamachi and Tunngle. I prefer Tunngle.
yea tunngle is good
Wippien is okay
Go use battlelan, it works well, Just need to put your friend's ip in.

Yeah, battlelan isn't bad, it was made for warcraft 3.
client-to-client VPN connection.

Pretty good. Just look out for the people that have WAREZ games.
Dude, just fucking forward your ports and host it without a VPN client. It's not that hard.

Only truly reliable for games that are listed, I use it a lot to play with my friends as it can be easier to set up than battlelan(automatic IP assignment!), otherwise I use battlelan.
