Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/20/world/middleeast/danes-wild-tale-of-ruse-to-find-anwar-al-awlaki.html?_r=0 tldr; Danish intelligence service collaborated with C.I.A. to try and find Anwar al-Awlaki and target him for a drone strike, which he was killed in. Danish agent Morten Storm wrote with al-Awlaki pretending to be a croatian blonde and al-Awlaki published a video talking about her as his future wife. The attempt failed but the agent was certain he helped with locating him. He didn't feel he got enough credit for it so he went to Jyllands Posten (a danish newspaper) and leaked the info. Sorry if the tldr is a bit confusing to read, but it's 2am and i'm really tired.

Even though they made her leave the suitcase behind, I bet the CIA still tracked her. The bleach she used to dye her hair was a specially made formula that only drones can see.
