Maybe it will be a decent game with new additions to the series. After Modern Warfare 3 though I'm not optimistic. It was pretty obvious from that game alone that a lot of the people who left Infinity Ward were the actual talent behind the series.
This sounds like it could be spooky.
It's going to be the first true survival horror game in years.
Looks like it's 3spooky5me. I'm going to have to skip this one
"NEXT GENERATION INNOVATION"
Well if it's going to be a next-gen game as well, looks like the series is finally getting a new engine. Sounds good to me.
A friend and me have been jokingly tossed around the idea that an Activision's TF2 would have been dragged out over nine games, one for each character.
Looks like they're starting with Sniper! :v:
But seriously I wouldn't expect more novelty from this one than "half the story's about McStoneCold1337sniperz", the other half being shooting as always.
"next generation", right
the create a class in black ops 2 was pretty innovative (I think) but the gameplay is still the same shit.
I'll keep an eye out for this but I don't expect much.
Rattle me attachments!
I hope there actual ghosts in the story. That will mix it up a bit, and it's more realistic than MW3 was...
It's probably still on the quake engine.
just imagine if it turned into quake 3 arena type gameplay
Imagine if it was like the previous games, but with all pretension to realism thrown out the window. They just go absolutely fucking bonkers with this one.
That would make me buy it.
Better be fucking ghostbusters.
I'm for anything if it'll bring some innovation to this stale genre.
That trailer plays like a bad deodorant advert.
Why make it next-gen if it's going to run on old-gen too anyways? Sure it'll look nicer on those specific systems, but it seems like too much effort for Infinity Ward. Still, it'll help sales to people who didn't buy new consoles, but it still seems dumb to me.

There were games that were still released on PS2/Xbox when they also had next-gen counterparts on 360/PS3.

The fuck does that matter? I'm sure if you ripped apart the engine you'd find old legacy code back to id tech 3.

Because people are going to buy a PS4/Xbox 2 and expect the latest games on it, while people who can't afford to blow a load of cash on a new console might also want to play it, it's not like it'll require much effort to just lower texture resolutions and remove extra polies to get it on older hardware.

Sure, but nowadays there aren't a lot of games that get different versions of the same game (except for portable/wii versions of for example the CoD games). I just don't see them making different version of CoD for both the old and new gen consoles.
kill terrorists in pristine HD with even more emotions and realism (thanks to high polycounts!!)
NEXT GENERATION GRAFIX!!11!

It's pretty cool that they're using a new engine. I like that they're at least trying to make some changes and make things different, like how Black Ops 2 did.
Funny how the tables have turned. Now CoD is changing things up and Battlefield has become the samey rehashed shit.

the only similarities in battlefield was BF3 - BF4. 2 games isn't really enough to base a conclusion on, especially with direct sequels
having said that, who cares lol

The Battlefield series reuses content constantly, and I'm rather amused that people are just now getting outraged about it.
So this doesn't take the role of Ghost? Ill be glad if they actually begin to move away from the "world war" type gameplay. Maybe they will focus more on stealth or some element besides run and gun for this one...

I think it's partly the fact that we don't get a new BF annually.

Stealth just wouldn't work with most of the playerbase of these games.
