To be expected when the media puts out such a wide coverage of other school shootings.
2 shot at Calif. high school; shooter detained

KERO-TV says a shooter has been taken into custody as deputies go room-by-room
At least two people were shot Thursday at a high school in Taft, Calif., KERO-TV reports.
The shooter was taken into custody at Taft High School, according to KERO, which reports that it got a tip on the shooting from people hiding in closets inside the school.
KGET-TV quotes Kern County Fire officials as saying one of the victims was airlifted to Kern Medical Center with unknown injuries and the second received only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Three ambulances and a medevac were sent to the school.
The Associated Press quotes city manager's assistant Debra Elliott as saying the shooting was reported shortly after 9 a.m. local time.
KERO said officers form the Kern County sheriff's department were going room--by-room to secure the school.
Parents were told to pick up their students at the football field, 23ABC reported.
Taft, which has a population over just over 9,300 people, is located 30 miles west southwest of Bakersfield, Calif.
Why schools?
Why schools?
Most of the people there will be young and there is little chance of armed resistance.
Why schools?
Because they are gun free zones and shooters know that no one is going to be armed to fight back. This is why gun free zones don't work.
Why schools?
Maybe it's a grudge and they know that the person they want to kill is going to be there.
Why schools?
Because many of the gunmen are linked to the school some how, either by currently attending or have attended such schools.
i hate seeing these school shootings pop up in the news. the thought of little kids losing their lives at ages 7-12 and not getting to experience life anymore just sucks.
the second received only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
What, did it just graze them? That's the only thing I can imagine if you are going to refuse treatment after getting shot.

Who said they were shot?
i hate seeing these school shootings pop up in the news. the thought of little kids losing their lives at ages 7-12 and not getting to experience life anymore just sucks.
While it is no less unfortunate, no one has died so far in this one and this is a highschool, ages 14-18 roughly.
I don't feel safe at school anymore.
no ne dead, so far.

The article in his post.
Not again.
Reminds me on one thing. I've seen a video on youtube, where someone said to not show attention about school shootings or rampant shootings to make it less interesting or something. Shit, can't find it.

school shootings are actually statistically almost non-existent.

oh whoops sorry, continue on then
but the thought of innocent little kids dying because some guy is mentally fucked up still frightens me

It's a Charlie Brooker video. It's posted in every one of these threads.

At least the victim count was only 2 this time.
Now we wait and see if they'll be okay or not.
The information they have given should be the only information we get. We dont need to know the shooter's name

This guy gets it
I don't feel safe at school anymore.
Considering how many schools are in the US and how many school shootings occur, you're more likely to be killed in a car accident on the way home.
I don't feel safe at school anymore.
Statistically you're more likely to be struck multiple times by lightning than get shot at school.
