Im new to rust, why is everyone so against this game?
Mainly the community because it's by and large terrible. Two years ago Reddit found out about Rust, immediately hyped it into way way way more than it actually was, and summoned a massive flood of 12-year-old Minecraft/DayZ punks on us. The Rust subforum's been a stain ever since. It's full of newbies with more coming every time, plenty who've never used a forum that didn't have a Like or upvote button before, who don't understand FP rules or posting etiquette, and as a result the average posting quality is beyond awful. Count on a minimum of three identical-topic threads on the same page whenever anything happens with development, because checking for existing threads on even the first forum page, never mind page 2 or searching, is actually too much to ask. Hopefully the next update starts to finally detail the fish traps and possibly farming/animal husbandry. Hell being able to mass-produce hemp to get cloth would be pretty useful.
lol at the redacting

In fact, if you venture beyond the Facepunch servers, you can run into some pretty chill players.
Those drawings look sick! Makes me kinda sad that I've never played this game.
Fuuuuuuuck It updated 4 hours ago? I didn't update my server yet!
That bone armour concept art made me realize how much hair needs to make its way in game. Including facial.

I think all goldies who were around long enough were guilty of something back then. But I agree, not on the magnitude of the rust forums.
