Hi, my computer is getting old. I've done my best to upgrade it from an old office computer into a decent gaming and workload computer.
But it's come to the time where I want to get a new motherboard with a new case, since this one doesn't have PCI-Express slots and the fan on it is at a constant 'overdrive' (if someone knows why, it would be much appreciated).
Would it be safe to carry my Sata HDD that contains my OS and program files onto a new motherboard without any problems? Thank you in advance.
Download Speccy, and take a screenshot. Also, heart.
No, you'll have to reinstall windows.
Specs. What's your specs, and what games do you plan on playing?
Installing Speccy.
I plan on playing Portal 2, Garry's Mod, Minecraft and other Valve games.
I can play them at the moment with this PCI graphics card, but not having PCI-E really limits my choice.

I've got some pretty old shit.
I'll give you some good advice... Take that, and throw it out the window. You're better off getting a whole new computer too be honest.
I would be planning just to extract my HDD and my graphics card for the time being, then buying a new case, motherboard, graphics card at somepoint, and processors.

And buy some more RAM than that.
You should try saving your cash until you can get atleast $1000. Once there give us a jingle... We'll be able to help you out build a new rig.
Okay, thanks anyway.
No problem, and best of luck.
500$ will suffice for a fair system.
Why 32bit 7 ultimate?

Pentium 4 that doesn't support 64 bit.
As for ultimate, only the OP knows.
My Uncle got ten free copies from his workplace which provides Dell laptops. This was the time where 7 only just came out, and was a huge request in workplaces.
