Greetings FP,
I recently bought Windows 7 64 bit online, looking to upgrade my Vista 32 bit. I downloaded it and burnt it onto a disc, but the problem is finding a space to install onto. Right now I have 2 hard drives, drive A has my OS and a partition for music and fraps videos, and drive B had all the files that were saved from my previous computer that died. Since I no longer needed the files from B, I decided to format it and install Win7 on there, and then copy files from my drive A at my leisure. But, when formatting B I was presented with the error "Failed to format the selected partition. (Error: 0x80070057)" Drive B is now completely blank and whenever I try to open it I am asked to format it again, with the same outcome as before. My only option now is to format drive A which means backing up all my files onto DVDs which is very time consuming.
Any ideas as to how to fix B?
Did some quick googling, perform a scandisk having the "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sector" enabled. Post results.
If you mean doing the error checking in the properties of the drive, I'm afraid that still gives me a prompt to format.

The drive is RAW by the way.
