Authorities say a Pennsylvania man slammed his fiancee's 8-year-old son onto the floor for not cleaning his room, fatally injuring him. Allegheny County police say North Braddock resident Orlando Williams had been drinking before he tripped over a laundry basket in the boy's room and angrily tried to slam him onto the edge of his bed Sunday night. Police say he missed, and the boy fell on the floor. The couple drove to a hospital Monday morning. Doctors called police because of the severity of the boy's injuries, including a herniated brain stem. He was on a ventilator and died Thursday. Williams is jailed on charges including aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/cops-year-boy-messy-room-killed-moms-fiance-40100266
huh hey gee wouldya look at that
The fuck?
Williams is jailed on charges including aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child
If I'm being perfectly honest I think he did more than endanger it? I can't imagine how the mom feels for getting her son mixed up with this guy
Why does Pennsylvania have so many fucked up child abuse cases Been here 6 years and still dont get it
dude should get murder charges
Surprised manslaughter isn't on the list. Does manslaughter not apply to children or something? [editline]24th June 2016[/editline]
dude should get murder charges
Generally Murder is intentional, Manslaughter is accidental.
I dunno if this should be classified as manslaughter over murder considering he slammed the kid around
The abuse was certainly intentional, either way. I feel like that could be adequate enough to try and pin him for murder. Which I definitely think he should be, but I'm not a lawyer or anything.
I dunno if this should be classified as manslaughter over murder considering he slammed the kid around
I really dont think he intended to kill the poor kid. It's like that guy that killed someone bothering his daughter with 1 punch. Dude still deserves jail time tho.
He deserves time, but not for murder. I dont think it was intentional.

Criminal homicide in Pennsylvania does include negligently causing someone's death. I think he should be charged additionally with second degree murder, if they haven't already. But then again, I'm not a lawyer.

imagine getting killed just for having a messy room
Why does Pennsylvania have so many fucked up child abuse cases Been here 6 years and still dont get it
braddock is a really run-down shitty town
What a fucking idiot.
You just don't do things like this to a child without the intent to cause harm. This is pure murder and nothing short of it. Also just a side-note: but what the fuck is with step-parents and being abusive to their SO's children? I swear every single person I've ever met with a step-parent has been abused by them in some way including myself and my sister.
My stepfather is one of the sweetest, well tempered people I've ever met. Never said a mean word to me let alone put hands on me [editline]24th June 2016[/editline] Makes me sad that anyone thinks they can lay hands on a child. No excuse for it. I bet the mother feels awful
braddock is a really run-down shitty town
Plenty of towns in Pennsylvania are really run-down shitty towns.
Generally Murder is intentional, Manslaughter is accidental.
Trying to smash a child's skull onto a hard surface can probably be considered a murder attempt.
Trying to smash a child's skull onto a hard surface can probably be considered a murder attempt.
It said he tried to slam him into his bed and hit the floor instead.
Shit like this happens way too much, and it's even scarier when it doesn't end up in death. When I worked at a board of DD school I had a kid who was born completely typical. One day he was crying, dad literally threw him across the room into a wall. Dad went to jail, mom didn't want to deal with it and just disappeared so now he lives in a nursing home. Kid's 14 now. Pretty much nonresponsive unless you've got him in the pool, full leg, hip, chest, arm braces. Can't eat, can't drink, can't talk, nearly zero motor control. Just sad.
It said he tried to slam him into his bed and hit the floor instead.
The edge of a bed counts as a hard surface last time I checked.
Why does Pennsylvania have so many fucked up child abuse cases Been here 6 years and still dont get it
Everything regarding family law in PA is fucked six ways from Sunday. Did you know that your parents can go into assisted living, and then the facility can then sue you when they die to recoup their costs. There's literally a predatory assisted living industry in PA. People have been sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars by facilities taking care of their estranged/abusive parents.

i know people here tend to not like it when overly emotional snap responses are posted but if you slam a kids head against the bed frame for having a dirty room you can go and kill yourself
The edge of a bed counts as a hard surface last time I checked.
It is my understanding that beds have mattresses on them. I guess it depends how you read into it.
Imagining my room when I was 8 enough force to kill a kid against the floor is still pretty damn bad on even a serta
