Which one is beter: the 6th gen (new) Nano, or the 5th gen one? This is the 6th gen: This is the 5th gen: Please post why, with actual reasons. I'm kind of undecided as to which one is better. I am trying to make this not a "choose for me" thread. I have read the rules. I am asking which one you think is better.
5th gen had more features. Video recording and video playback is better than a clip and tiny useless touchscreen.
Well, you get what you pay for. However, as we're speaking Apple products here, you won't get much for either one of them! :buddy:

They are overpriced, and are marketed to the ignorant as superior only because they can. I like the iPod line because, for portable music players, there really aren't many that can match the quality. The Zune is the only other real competitor in this area. I have had a Zune, and didn't really like it. ...Lets try to keep fanboyism out of this.
5th Gen obviously.
I like the 5th generation for the features. The 6th always makes me laugh, it's so tiny and cute. Haha. But I like the size, but again, less features.
I'd go with 6th
6th looks better

They are overpriced, and are marketed to the ignorant as superior only because they can. ...Lets try to keep fanboyism out of this.
First of all, hypocrisy, second of all, I enjoy Macs because of the OS look, the overall look, and the 'friendliness' and refined attributes that the OS provides. Unlike windows, which is an unrefined piece of fucking shit. I use both windows and Mac OS's on my Mac, but I like my Mac partition better for programming and graphic intensive work. Besides, I have the money. So I'll buy whatever the hell I want to without being considered 'redundant' computer owner. Thank you.
Pretty much the above. Windows has shitty memory management. I hardly use my 2GB RAM to the max
The 6th gen looks extremely hard to hold and operate with one hand.
6th gen feels like a downgrade
Macs have a better look for there OS, But really in performance and reliability, Windows is where it is at!
Don't talk about Windows in the apple section it generally ends in trouble
Macs have a better look for there OS, But really in performance and reliability, Windows is where it is at!
This thread is not about OS X or Windows, so kindly shut up about them. I wouldn't use any of the additional features in the 5th Gen, so I would definitely get the new one if I needed an iPod. Looks cool.
I was stating my opinion, then saying to try to keep it out of the thread. Is it that hard? One guy had the right idea, and PM'd me to talk. This is a thread about iPods. Keep the discussion about them. [editline]01:00PM[/editline]
First of all, hypocrisy,
It was my opinion, based off of facts. I am no fanboy. I pointed out a trend in how apple sells their products. The PC companies don't do this. That's why it was worth pointing out. [editline]01:02PM[/editline] IPODS.
Voted 5th 'cause it has the classic Nano form factor.
5th gen it's not a strapless watch it has physical controls, which are convenient for exercising, which is one of the benefits to the size of the nano (ie Nike+) it has a camera which is neat even if it's not perfect it has a 3:2 display which is just a bit wider than 4:3, but either way wider than the silly square display of the new one - correction, it's just a bit taller than 16:10 familiar interface, not a watered down iOS interface you can play videos, which was one of the special features of the original nano, and consistent with all of the other generations
5th. The 6th gen have way too many features removed, in exchange for a stupid and useless touch screen with a clip on the back.
6th gen is cute, but no way the features warrant the price tag. Especially as the 5th gen really has more features. It's just a gimmick really.
The 6th gen sure looks cool and all, and I'd probably not go for it since I only listen to music, and won't need a stupid touch screen. And it's painfully expensive. Add another 100$ and you can get the new 4th generation Ipod touch.
5th gen, because it's not too small and is more feature rich.
camera was removed for a reason: the iPod Touch got one
5th. gen., though I like the 4th. gen. better, because of the fact that it didn't have a camara, as I really just thought at it as a gimmick to add a camara. It was useless. Better not spoil the otherwise very attractive design with it.
However, as we're speaking Apple products here, you won't get much for either one of them! :buddy:
You've obviously never owned an apple product then. With an iPod Touch / iPhone anyway you definitely get what you pay for.
Yeah, you pay for an iPhone, you get an iPhone.. Should we expect anything else? That would just be bad service.
Expect the 7th generation to introduce the omitted features. Its the apple way. Release product. +12 Months Release product with one or two new features repeat.
I'll take video playback over a shuffle with a screen, thanks.
I might get the 6th gen and wear it as a watch; coolest watch ever
Why does an mp3 player NEED multitouch? Seems like a waste of money to me
