There they are, the tracking # is telling me it'll be here today and both packages, which I'm guessing is the case in one and everything else in the other have a hub scan (<- what is this?) a province away from me. I also bought 2gs of Cosair xms2. So tell me your opinion on the parts I've ordered and stuff.
Pretty good for the price, but I would have gotten an antec 300 for the case.
Judging by the parts, this is a media center PC?
I hope you're not going to use the PSU that comes with the case

I planned to for a week or two, if it causes any issues my friend has a PSU he replaced with one that had leds. The case and PSU are first on the list to be upgraded.
Checked the tracker, it's out for delivery in a town over, should be here at 2pm the latest, it's 10am now.

Mostly for gaming, I have a laptop that's good for photoshop, flash and 3d modeling. I think i'm just going to have games and an internet connection to the PC.
Alright so it came, I've got everything in there, but when I hit the power button, nothing happens, what should I look for to fix?

Check that everything is plugged in, reseat cpu/gpu/ram etc etc did you use one of those anti static wrist straps? ( inb4 they are useless)
take it apart rebuild it double check the plugs

Front panel headers on the mobo/power supply issues/is it plugged in.
I think it might be the cables in general, this is my first time building a PC and it was completely from scratch, all the components are in correctly I just don't know if the cables are.

I've got all the headers in the right spot, could be, and yeah it's plugged in.
Narrowing the issue here, I hit the start button directly on my mobo and it all came to life, my power button isn't working for some reason.
Broken during deliver?
He bent the pins on his CPU.
You might have fucked up the power button/reset/led things. Make sure you have them all plugged in the proper pins. Also, is the little light at the bottom of your mobo lit-up when you give it power?

Sometimes they are in the right positions, but you need to rotate them to where the bottom is now facing up.
[editline]12:58PM[/editline]
Also, make sure you used stand-offs or the case has some punched out already.

Stop with the fucking bandwagonism, HEC PSU's are just fine, I've had a 585 Watt HEC for 2 years, and it's never failed me.
I'm sick, so sick of "OMG CORSAIR AND OCZ AND ANTEC ONLY EVERYTHING ELSE EXPLODES".
and coolermaster
It's just a general rule of thumb. Case PSU's usually fuck you over, and I have yet to see a single included power supply that has the marked wattage being true power.
most are fine but make sure the 6pin is in the 4pin cpu and 20+4 pin are seated
(lol ECS)

Have you drawn anywhere near 585W with your 8800GT?
Yeah, no.
Also, are you experiencing any Vdroop?

I've also powered two 3870's for around 3 months.
Unfortunately, I was forced to return them to their original owner.
But my HEC PSU has 39a over two 12v rails.
Also, you're a complete fucking idiot if you deliberately put too much in your comp with a power supply uncapable; there is absolutely nothing wrong with HEC PSU's, provided you aren't overloading them, and that applies to every single brand as well.
But cheap ones are much eaiser to overload.

I had an Ultra. "It exploded, bursts into flames, and turned my computer into a gaseous cloud of noxious fumes.
Logisys: Loud pop. Smoke. PANIC!
Apevia: This one had a less dramatic and quiet death. Just the smell of burning rubber.
Brands I trust when it comes to PSU.
Corsair
Antec
Thermaltake
Kingwin
Silverstone
Zalman
and of course OCZ.
not OCZ?
not OCZ?
HA! Funny I forgot that one considering my current PSU is an OCZ StealthXStream:P
what about Tagan and Enermax
[editline]12:38AM[/editline]
OP those are some very low end brands, good luck.
