• Batman: Arkham Knight's PC port appears to be a disaster
We didn't get review code for Batman: Arkham Knight, and now we might know why. With today's release of the Rocksteady sequel, Steam has been flooded with negative reviews regarding the PC port's quality. It is, by all reports, not good. Chief complaints include stuttering frame-rates and a 30 frames-per-second cap. This latter restriction can be removed by editing a config file.

In addition, it sounds like even high-end graphics cards are struggling to maintain a stable frame-rate, despite new drivers from both Nvidia and AMD.
http://www.pcgamer.com/batman-arkham-knights-launch-appears-to-be-a-disaster/
Also the lovely "No map, counter prompts, or detective vision if you turn off depth of field" :v:
Hi ho, steam refunds!
Why would they release the PC version like this?
Why would they release the PC version like this?
I suppose they announced the release date before Steam started accepting refunds.
Good thing we have steam refunds, look if you are having unsatisfactory performance. Its simple, Refund it! Vote with your wallet to stop this crap happening again.
Yeah I just refunded
Well that explains why GMG has it for 40% off already. I feel bad for telling people about that "deal" now.
On that day, WB Games received a grim reminder... Yep, definitely waiting for this one to be fixed.

I would ask for an exchange for the other "free game", but the other free game is The Witcher 3, which I already have.
Wow, but Asylum and City ran so well.
Why would they release the PC version like this?
They did some graphs. It basically went:
lots | * | | * | | * | | * * | dungivfuck |___*_____*___| x y
Where x = how much they value the console market and y = how much they value the PC market
Few weeks back I could pre-order the deluxe edition for 90% off at some place. I was going to do just that, glad I didn't.
Pretty glad I haven't even per-order the game on PC.
I really hope their next release will take a major hit due to this fuckup. Seriously I'm getting tired of AAA developers facing minor to no backlash when stuff like this happens.
I wouldn't jump the gun and label it as trash, asap. I'm fairly confident it'll be patched up. Sadly, it's become a practice to publish a game, and then patch it post release. Not good, imo, but it's still dumb to go "WELL THIS GAME IS SHIT." I say wait a week before a verdict.
Well, more time for The Witcher.
It's a shame, I hope they work tirelessly on some major patch. A few pretty serious technical issues aside, the game is looking damn fine.
Strange, I can't seem to find the game on steamcharts, though I guess it WAS only just released. Over the next coupla days, let's check back and see how badly their fuck-up has impacted sales.
The fuck happened? All their past Batman games performed stellar for me

I never see anyone but dumb people in Steam Community threads going "IT'S FINE ON MY MACHINE, UPGRADE YOU RETARDS." Literally no one is happy with bad ports.
The fuck happened? All their past Batman games performed stellar for me
Judging by the ridiculously high gfx ram requirements I'm guessing they couldn't be fucked to port it properly from the new consoles (which have unified memory) and optimise it for PC. This is the first next gen/current gen game in the series.
Let's not forget this gem:
The people who ported this, Iron Galaxy, are the same horrible people who made the Vita BL2 port. This is really sad, the last 2 Arkham games were fantastic and some of my favorites but ive heard pretty bad things about this excluding the port and performance. Like what the fuck happened with this?
Let's not forget this gem:
Sad. So shilling really is a thing huh?
The fuck happened? All their past Batman games performed stellar for me
I studied this case and it seems they outsourced the PC port. To some cheap, shit company by the looks of it.
Sad. So shilling really is a thing huh?
yes did you think it was just some paranoid delusion that 4chan users had?

Refusing to buy the game that comes out after the one that's a disaster sends the message that you don't want the game you're refusing to buy, not that you're angry about the last thing. Until recently people have had no way of returning broken games, all you could do was complain on forums while Dick Businessman looked at charts telling him that cutting corners gave him more profits.
What forum is that? I can make my profile link to Ryan Moore, that doesn't mean I am
